Which do most people prefer to do as a base for fighting mma?
I am an old school believer that gi training is a better place to start. If you can learn the escapes from the bottom when every part of your body is a handle. You will be MUCH better off. It slows things down so you actually HAVE to LEARN the TECHNIQUE. Then after that no gi is just a matter of adjusting your grips, then dealing with the speed.
