BJJ.org

Anybody know whats up with this site or who runs it?

How do you get listed?

How do you get a response from them, do you have to donate?

Don Geddis runs the site. On the site there is an address for the webmaster: webmaster@bjj.org No Donation necessary.

Send the info you want listed to that address.

However, it seems Don has not been staying on top of the site for a long time now. Many people have requested they be listed and have not had success. I got myself listed but that was about a year ago and with many emails requesting he do so. So don't expect a quick response. Then again, Don just might get to it right away, you never know. Unfortunatley it's a crap shoot lately with BJJ.org. It's a shame too, the sight is/could be, a great resource.

Don runs the site for free for what I am told. If so, I completely understand why he does not spend every waking moment answering e-mails from the gazillion new blues/purples/browns out there.

There are sufficient cites out there to get your name listed if you really need it...Compete in a tournamnent, place, and then your name will be in a results page that can be googled/yahoo-ed.

Or better yet... think capitalisicly... someone should buy it from him and keep the lists up has lightbulb over head until reaches in pocket to realize lint, not money is all there is

I sent him an email about a month ago asking him to add me to the list. He replied with in a few days asking me the day a was promoted to Purple I give him the date I was promotes and it was listed a day later. It only took about 7 days for him to list my name.

Like I said; crap-shoot.

Thanks for the info

I have emailed him several times and have not heard anything or had my name and rank moved

1) Don Geddis runs Bjj.org for fun. He actually TRIES to keep on top of the black belts at least, but he literally receives hundreds of requests per month for all belts, and more than a few of the e-mails are actually sort of threatening in nature ("hey you @#$! put my blue belt on or I'll kick your ass")

2) Don's a bazillionaire. I don't think he'd sell Bjj.org as it's his baby, and was well before he made his fortune. BJJ.org is actually one of the first site on the internet, much less covering BJJ. His porsche actually has the customized plates BJJ ORG.

3) All that being said, Don is soon to unveil some scripts on the site that will allow people to update their rankings and maybe some other information on their own. It will be sponsored in partnership with OntheMat.com and GrapplingDVDs.com

That'll be cool.

thats cool bro. thanks for the info

Gotta be hard to make sure the info in accurate. What is stopping someone from saying they are a Brown belt?

Gumby rules! Thanks for the accurate information.

Yes...he responded very quickly for me too. He knows my instructor and updated my listing and pic within a day or so.

I remember that as a good site a few years ago but it hasn't been updated much, I think.

The Gene Simco shit probably ate a lot of his time...
