I know this is old, but I haven't seen it before.
"Many Europeans say they're great because they make it easier to tell the fighters apart, but the Japanese hate them because they go against the white uniform tradition.
...Matsumoto, et al, analyzed the results of four major judo competitions - the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2001-2003 World Championships - and found a "statistically significant bias in winning percentage'' for the blue side, but only in male competition, not in women's matches.
Building on previous research, Matsumoto, an expert on the expression of emotion, found blue tends to generate a "color signal,'' a largely unthinking response that is "biologically programmed, sexually selected and testosterone dependent.''
Blue, much more than white, is associated with dominance and aggression.
So players wearing blue, the theory says, are likely to be seen as more aggressive by the judges. Spectators are also likely to see the blue player as more dominant, and thus are innately prone to cheer more for him, all other things being equal.
This creates a subtle feedback loop. "

I do not believe in that crap. So now, if fighters wear blue vale tudo shorts or boardshorts, then that means they're the aggressor? wtf
"I do not believe in that crap"
being irrational is liberating, isn't it?
There wasa study on blue v red in boxing i think, and red won more often?
I painted my entire room blue once and lived in it.
That was the only place where I ever screamed at a woman in aggression.
True story.

They've also done this with online action games, shooting games like Halo and Team Fortress, and Red wins more often than blue as well.
Yep if you read the article it mentions red is even better than blue in that respect.
Also if you wear black (hockey, soccer) you are more likely to get called for penalties!
