Blue Ray or DVD player

Are movies on Blue Ray really worth the extra price than movies on DVD?

My DVD player died and wanted to replace it, so I’m wondering if I should get a BR and buy BR movies going forward.

Seems like a waste of cash.

Laser disk

Do you think the picture quality is worth it?

Dude, BR players are cheap these days. Get a BR since it plays both.

I bet you still have something similar to this

Streaming is the way to go

It's hard to even find a dvd player anymore unless you buy it online.  And it's only like 20 bucks less.

I think buying stacks of movies is a waste of cash these days. Subscribe to a streaming site and watch a bunch of shit. That is, if that’s a possibility.

Do you rather stuff in HD or standard definition?

it really is that simple. Hell, you can get a 4K Ultra player for $79 these days.

Transfer all your movies to a hard drive so you don’t have to deal with DVD players and all your movies are on one drive

Not far from the truth.

I only stream legally, and sadly those services never seem to have the movies and TV series I once enjoyed. So I basically have to pick up old DVD of shit I want to see again.

Here is an ethical question for you

if you buy a DVD and choose to lend it out to someone … is that ethically ok? You bought it and are choosing to loan it out.

Now if someone else buys a movie… and chooses to share it online for free…through a streaming site… is that not ethically ok?

When I lend out my DVD I can no longer watch it. So its really lending.

When you share it online for free you are reproducing it. YOU can still watch it so you didn’t really lend it.

So, yeah, its not the same to me, but I know a lot of people into piracy think its a victim-less crime.

Get a 4K blu Ray player and 4K tv. Get with the times. It’s very much worth it

Streaming sites are cool but they are limited in what they have and many obscure movies are only available for rent in the physical format with Netflix. Plus, they take movies off and add other movies all the time.

Are you retarded?

Only possibility that you think those two examples are the same

Lol I don’t stream illegally

(I don’t know how really)

i buy the UFC PPV and have a Netflix and hbo account

I’m asking the question, because there is some grey area for sure

I have put all my movies on a hardrive. So I have the hard copy and a digital.

Ethically Can I lend one of them out?

Lending and reproducing is not the same thing.

For example you can lend a book you purchased, but you cannot reproduce it to lend.

I remember this question being addressed on the news when VHS tapes came out. The court determined it was legal to lend out your purchased copies to as many people as you want.  IIRC this came about when the VHS manufacturers were trying to put something in the players that would sync with the tapes and allow it to be played on only one machine

But I did reproduce it.

I put all my movies on a digital hardrive.. so I don’t have have a DVD player or switch movies. Just switch sources to the hardrive

ethically is that wrong?
