Middleweight prospect Bo Nickal doesnât care what you think about his UFC 300 spot.
The former Penn State wrestler has gotten a heavy push since joining the UFC in late 2022. Last year, Bo Nickal fought twice in the octagon, with both fights coming on pay-per-view main cards. For what itâs worth, he defeated both Jamie Pickett and newcomer Val Woodburn inside of one round.
Following that win over the latter last July, Bo Nickal went on a bit of a hiatus. However, heâs now set to return next month, at UFC 300. There, Nickal will meet the rising Cody Brundage, who has won two in a row. The Factory X talent last defeated Zachary Reece last December by first-round knockout.
While fans are excited for Bo Nickalâs return next month, theyâre not happy where itâs at. The middleweight prospect will fight on the fourth fight on the main card of UFC 300. The bout is ahead of others, such as Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan, Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison, and Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt.
When the UFC 300 main card was released earlier this month, many fans were naturally stunned at Bo Nickalâs placement. On his YouTube channel, the middleweight prospect responded to the criticism. There, Nickal stated that he didnât care, and joked that he should go to fansâ jobs and boo them in a role reversal.
âIt also feels good to be on the main card.â Bo Nickal stated before flipping off the camera on his YouTube channel, discussing his UFC 300 return. âJust doing me baby, I donât really care to be honest. I could fight wherever I like that it makes people mad. I think thatâs so funny. âYou donât deserve it, blah, blah blahâ. Iâm like, okay, thank you. I think that all of these people, itâs like that one thing where, I should go to their job.â
He continued, âThey get a raise, and Iâll be like âBoo! Boo! You donât deserve it! You donât deserve it you bum youâve only been working here two years! This guy Jim over here has been working three you freaking scumbag! You deserve a pay cut, you idiotâ. At the end of the day the decision was made because I probably sell more. More people want to see me, why wouldnât they put me there if more people wanted to see me?â
âAt the end of the day, the most watched spot is the prelim. The main prelim. If they wanted people to see me, they would put me at the main prelim.â Bo Nickal concluded. âBut the reality is they want to sell more pay-per-views, so they put me on the pay-per-view. It doesnât affect me, I get paid the same⌠These people are all pressed about it, and dude, I could not care less.â
Bo is a MW GOAT
Champ within two years
Not sure the issue is Bo being on the maincardâŚmore so itâs his opponent thatâs the issue. Brundage should not be in that spot on a card like this. Last fight Bo opened as a -1800 favorite and at UFC 300 heâs opened at -1450 vs Brundage lol. No other fight on the card is anywhere close to that kind of line lol
Is that accurate?
We almost never see any talk of prelim bouts on the web.
That ginger and his soft head will never win a belt
Kinda like Meisha Tate literally being in the main event of UFC 200, WMMA literally headlined that card. Doesnât get shitier than that.
He shouldnât be on the main card.
With that said, thatâs not his fault, he didnât make that decision, whatâs he supposed to do, say âNaw, please put me back to the early prelimsâ?
I didnât necessarily like that fight as the main event for 200 either, but I get it given the current events at the time. Tate was being pushed as the face of WMMA and Nunes was a legit opponent for her. The line for that fight was also Tate -250 vs Nunes +195âŚThe biggest favorite on that card was Mousasi at -650 vs Santos. That fight got put as the 2nd early prelim lol. Having a squash match as a -1450 favorite on this type of card is ridiculous lol
nerds would whine if they were hung with a silk ropeâŚ
Heâs going to own the middleweight division in the near future and UFC needs people to start knowing his name. I always felt like he NEEDED to be on 300 main card
Heâs got the right attitude.
