Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton. They're all still alive. How fucking awesome is that! Why do I keep hearing about Justin fucking Bieber? Why is the media not beating down these legends' doors begging for more music and interviews? I feel like one day we're going to wake up to the news of Dylan's passing and be like "fuck, I hadn't heard from him in years!" Wish these legends were still part of our every day music conversations.
Check out Clapton's version of Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right.' This should be the music people are begging for.
Love Dylan!!
Rainy Day Woman, no can defenders!!
My question is, why do teenagers drive the market? Why do great musicians fade into media obscurity?
Legendary musician. Good post, OP. You've got my VU of the day
dhjvcc - My question is, why do teenagers drive the market? Why do great musicians fade into media obscurity?Teenagers are the most vocal, trendy and influential group. They have always driven the new style or new artists to the top of the charts ...Beatles, Elvis, DeadHeads... I bet Dylan sells just as many tickets as Beiber at large venues (both sell out..IMO)

FETT_TFK_El Pescadero -I'm about to hit forty and hoping iTunes will change that trend. I actively still buy music as it's been part of my everyday life from early on. We're as big a market as teens surely. I don't mind, hell even like a lot of new artist. Good music is good music no matter the era. I just wish the world was still clamoring for living legends while they're still with us. How many great songs do these artist still have in them?dhjvcc - My question is, why do teenagers drive the market? I've started a few threads on here for one of my all time favorites Paul Simon.
I love all music ( I'm 34)

Agreed. All these legends and we have the Biebs, and lots of hip hop shit taking center stage. Sad.
