Bobby Jo Blythe= Reallife inspiration of Cobra Kai

This is no troll and I'm not kidding I was following the story on Bushido about The "Jesus taught me" case and Bobby Jo Blythe the instructor.

The guys found out that He MAY be the actual inspiration for the John Kreese character and Cobra Kai in the Karate Kid movie.

Bizzare but true, its on page 121 of the thread over there:

Turns out that there is a very interesting interview with the screenplay writer of the Karate Kid, a Mr. Robert Mark Kamen, (click name for link).
Mr. Robert Mark Kamen is best known for the release of the highly successful movie “The Karate Kid” in which he wrote the screenplay. Mr. Kamen as you may or may not know is an accomplished martial artist with over 40 years experience. His roots trace back to the Karate styles of Shotokan, Isshin-Ryu, and Okinawan Goju, and he now trains in Tai Chi and Ba Qua.

In the above linked interview with him he says that his inspiration for Kreese and the Cobra Kai were" the cartoon version of a man and his dojo that will remain unmentioned".
This is especially interesting as Mr Robert Mark Kamen and Bobby Joe Blythe certainly shared a lot of acquaintances.
The site on which you can read the interview with Mr Kamen is none other than the same friends and acquaintances archival site as that which featured photos of Bobby Joe Blythe, until very recently when they were removed.
The site is the Donald Bohan’s Memorial Website
You can find the google cache of the pages by searching for “Bobby Joe Blythe” and “bohans” it used to be here http://www.bohans-family.com/friends..._b/enlfr.htm?3 but the photos have been removed.
Interestingly you can see photos of other people relevant to this (bystanders who shall, for now, not be named) on the same website.

They are all friends and acquaintances of the late Sensei Donald Bohan.

It seems to me that the late Sensei Donald Bohan was a good man.

He wrote wisely regarding the martial arts, as you can read here:
http://www.bohans-family.com/Dojo/mo..._in_karate.htm

It is entirely possible that Sensei Bohans was acquainted with all or some of these people but did not know then well at all. I know that is the case for at least one bystander, as he says so in an interview.

Also the man running the website, a student of Bohan’s, has an open request for anyone who might have known Bohans to send in photos and other material for the website. It’s entirely possible that people have submitted photos on the most tenuous of links, just because of Bohans’ reputation. This kind of thing happens a lot with some martial arts instructors as we all know.

Anyway, the point I’m making is that, weird as it may seem, the idea that the Kreese and the Cobra Kai were based on Bobby Joe Blythe and his dojo is not entirely out of the question given that the Karate Kid screenplay writer and Bobby Joe Blythe moved in the same circle of friends and acquaintances.

Mr kamen would appear to be both a martial artist and a screenplay writer of some renown
