No kidding. He used to be one of the top LW's in the world. I can't believe he's had such a precipitous decline. There wasn't really a gradual process either, it just seemed to fuckin' happen, without him even seeming to have accumulated a lot of battle wear-and-tear. He just suddenly got thoroughly owned by Hominick, and then it's been all downhill from there.
Contrast that with a guy like Kondo whose continuing decline has been quite perceptible. That guy's fight age is obviously very old and worn-out.
His most successful years were back in Pancrase, and unfortunately he was really screwed in Pride - not even one decision in his favor - NOT ONE - when at least some, and arguably most, should have gone his way (maybe even all of them except for the Igor fight).
And the New Jersey woes for Red Devil continue. That place is like kryptonite for Russians.

YES
I would say he was pretty successful in 2003-4 as well when he beat Sperry, Kikuta and took Josh Barnett 3 rounds, that was amazing.
Also I would say he showed he was still top level even a couple of years ago when he beat Hendo and Nakamura. These 2 guys are both top 10 at LHW.
he's still very young maybe he needs to take a rest start lifting weights and make a comeback.
