Bonner/Griffin II for UFC 62

The Boston Herald had an article about the UFC and Bonner/Griffin is on for UFC 62.  Also, Dana is supposed to making a big announcement on ESPN tomorrow.  http://sports.bostonherald.com/ufc/view.bg?articleid=148499

Well it looks like I may not order UFC 62 as well.I didn't get 60 because the event wasn't good enough for 40 bucks and I got 61 just because of Tito and Andrei really but this one so far the only match that I want to see is Chuck getting beaten by Babalu.

If neither guy had lost since there last fight together...I would be interested in this...But now?...What's the point?

Forrest needs to win by KO! Bonnar has looked lackluster latley and this would secure Forrest as an upper level fighter.

While this will undoubtedly be an entertaining fight, I don't think this is smart matchmaking. Bonnar has been on the downslide recently. He won a very suspect decision against Jardine, and then Rashad basically dominated him. If Bonnar wins this fight (which is very possible given the style matchup) it will hurt Forrest's credibility as a contender, and they'll be left with no credible contenders out of the 2 of them, where before there was 1.

I would rather see Forrest fight a rematch against Tito, or barring that, maybe someone like Lambert or Eastman. Griffin/Bisping could be an awesome showdown after Bisping gets 1 or 2 more fights under his belt.

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see this rematch? Atleast not right now. In my mind, Griffin-Bonnar at the TUF 1 Finale was one of the greatest fights ever, and it seems like that if they have another one the last will be ruined. Because I don't think the 2nd one will match the excitement of the 1st, and people will be super dissapointed. I say, wait til both of these guys are the top dogs in there weight classes.

What a borefest

Whats up with you UFC having rematch after rematch.  They need to start finding new and more talent for all of their divisions.  Sooner or later we'll see AA/Sylvia 4.

I agree, what a borefest. Hopefully this fight is a prelim.

Retards

Like I see to write every time UFC puts on a match people want to see and you guys act like it's boring, then it sells like crazy....

Give me a match with fighters available that more fans, not elitist snobs who don't like anything, would pay money to see.

At that point, then say the matchmaking is bad.

Without a viable alternative, STFU.

Rashad vs. Griffin would not sell as well as Griffin vs. Bonnar

Rematching the best fight in UFC history? A dumb idea to fans who have no clue about the sport.

Boxing was dumb rematching Morales and Barrera twice as well.

whats the point?
out!

How in the world did Bonner now get bumped up to the PPV

Good rematch matchmaking wise, but, since Bonnar hasn't done so well lately I have trouble that he gets another shot at Forrest. I think Forrest won the first time, and I think he beat him again.

Soooo many rematches. But fuck it, should be a good fight.

Liddell vs Sobral

Sherk vs TBA for the belt

Silva vs Mardquardt

Terrell vs Okami

Swick vs Loiseau

Griffin vs Bonnar

= Worth ordering

edit: double post

Griffin is taking steps backwards in his career by fighting Bonner again.

Hugely popular fight, with fight of the year potential. This is not a step back in Forrests career. More publicity and possibly more money in the next round of contract negotiations.
Lets get it on!

I wish they would have waited a little longer before making this rematch. Bonnar has more to gain out of this than Griffin does though. Bonnar right now is fighting to prove his contract isn't a fluke. Griffin gets another win or two and then either gets a rematch at Tito or maybe even a shot at Chuck, or whoever is champ at the time. I'm going to hate myself for saying this, but I think the UFC is making this match for short-term ratings and not thinking long-term.

So they're going to do Bonnar/Griffin II...

I think it will be another great fight because their styles match up well. But Forrest definitely has more to lose than Bonnar, because it is a step back for him...although as someone else said, an entertaining step back.

In my opinion, Forrest has improved more than Bonnar and has fought tougher competition in Tito...so I see him getting the win and doing it more decisively this time around.
