In an other thread I mentioned this. Before i go any further I shoild mention I do not follow boxing at all, but I knew there was Floyd, Manny, and a lingering fight that they didnt feel like signing
Before tonight it was Manny vs Floyd. Every opponent they faced was merely just another side track from "THE" fight. For awhile its been back and forth "whos ducking who" and had Manny won tonight, itd be just more of that.
Though tonight boxing may have done itself good. On mutiple levels
- Before the fight they made it clear of the rematch clause, WWE Style, now i am not sure if Manny always has that in the contract, but tickets have already been made. This adds controversey, and that creates talk and cash. Talking will bring attention, and thats just more cash. They basically promoted themselvws with one "rigged (or not decision" and thats now debated
- it was (as mentioned before) Manny vs Pac. Now its Manny vs Bradely, and i can guarantee now casual and people not following boxing, knows of Bradely. They added a name to the whole Manny Pac feud, and that was much needed to inject more talk into the repetive one.
- With the controversey and how the fight went, Pac did not lose his star power and even keeps his dominate status, which doesnt take a thing away from Floyd vs Pac, and if Bradely were to beat him in the rematch (could happen now that he is familiar with fighting him) can create Bradley vs Floyd possibly, and can still have Manny vs Floyd as the "what if they fought now" fight. They have two huge fights, with a possible 3 if Bradley is to win
Well done Arum
God Bless Tim Tebow - Arum is a disgusting snake, but he's done this before. People act like it's something new.To be fair, he add more than Floyd Pac to boxing tonight using that whole dream match to spring it along
Until he dies the sport will never grow. I truly believe a Todd Debuff ran Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions can lift the sport as a whole, and not just a business like Arum is doing.
