I did some homework and check this out, heres a how many amature fights certain professionals had before they turned pro. You dont find this kinda of stuff in MMA. Its crazy!
there aren't as many MMA matches as there are boxing. Remember MMA has only been really sanctioned with Unified Rules for the last 5 years. And that's not every state. Comparing MMA to boxing is is apples and oranges for the time being..
The biggest reason is the Junior leagues obviously. Kids grow up through sanctioned leagues. In MMA it is the rare fighter that i under 18. If nothing else because most moms do not appreciate it.
Well I know that wrestlers and BJJ guys most likely have more matches than most fighters. heck Ive had close to 100 matches, but anyways people dont really put that much on records like they do on fight records.
not only that but i think its easier to have a match ever week than it is to have a fight every week
Man thats nothing... I started doing Thai Boxing after I saw Kickboxer (go ahead and laugh) and that was a long ass time ago. It was like 89 I was 11 years old still just a kid..... I was told I got a late start and that kids in Thailand start out at like 7 they have hundreds of fight by the time they are pre teens and teens. Thai boxing is crazy and brutal, it made my TKD sparing and training look like ballet.
"boxers don't have guys trying to choke them unconscious, break they're limbs(unless they're fighting Tyson) or stick fingers in their ass"
that's a valid point. I've done bjj matches where I had 6 matches in 1 day and my body was SHOT! I've had one boxing match and I was equallly as tired. maybe becuase it was a different experience than what I was use to.
By the way, most Thai boxers don't retire in their mid 20's because of injuries, it's because they have a tough time keeping condition with the younger fighters.

You wont find one pure boxer who would make it thru 6 submission matches in one day. Your cardio is activity specific. Ive grappled with guys who were highlevel soccerpalyers and had unreal cardio for that. They still died after a couple of minutes max when grappling...
I think Useless's point (And it's a very good one) most MMA fighters don't have enough amateur matches. OK if you've got a lot of Grappling, or striking matches it helps but there are a lot of fighters out there that don't even have that
