Boxing History - Fights & Fighters With Little Or No Footage

pretty interesting

Harry Greb is either a top 3 greatest ever to walk this earth, or the Jake Paul of the early 1900’s

I lean towards the first rather than the latter

Over 300 boxing matches against incredible names… 0 matches survived on film

The issue is that 98% of all things filmed from that time period no longer exist

yes good breakdown

and its sad most of the filmed stuff is gone…not only harry greb but also guys like abe attell who was on a similar level but at a lower weight class…these also guys talk about how there are people who basically have a lot of that kind of footage and just keep it in their collections

unfortunately the early part of sugar ray Robinson’s career wasn’t caught on film, it’s mostly only his fights past his prime that we can view.

Joe Louis is the greatest HW boxer of all time. 25 consecutive title defenses 7 of them came
In the year 1941 alone. His accomplishments will never be touched ever again

Rocky Vs Apollo 3

You can’t compare eras. It’d be like guys fighting mma in 96’ going up against modern fighters. It’d be no contest.

I’m a free American I can do whatever I want actually
