Saturday night Matt Brown squares off with Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 12 with a welterweight title in the balance. Despite the importance of the moment or the caliber of his opponent, Brown has finally learned to be confident:

I think I've learned over time like f--k it, I'm pretty f--king good at what I do. So f--k you if you don't like it," Brown said on the podcast. "I was even so humble looking at opponents and I think I'm looking at them a lot more objectively this way. I don't want to say cocky or arrogant, that doesn't describe it the right way. I feel good about where I am, I'm happy with who I am and I'm confident that whatever happens in a fight, I'm confident because I work my ass off everyday and when I wake up on Sunday, win or lose, I don't give a f--k because I know I put everything I had into it."
Although I think Robbie will win this I am a huge Matt fan. Dude has heart for days and brings it every time he fights. This is going to be a sick fight. Love both these guys and their mentality.
I haven't been this excited for a fight since Condit/Diaz. Dont see how this one could disappoint. Although I said the same thing about the other fight lol.
Everytime I root for a good prize fighter it makes me cringe when they open their mouths and say dumb shit.
It's like actors talking about politics, just makes you look stupid. Now I'm rooting for Lawler. Stay humble my friends.
You should expect them to say dumb shit when they open their mouth IMO. It makes things easier and you get pleasantly surprised when a fighter says something profound.
I think the philosopher Seneca suggested that we should expect the worst so that reality is always better than our expectations. Sounds a bit pessimistic but it's pretty useful in MMA, I think.
Still rooting for Brown here and trying to stay humble.
