Brown: Woodley an 'easy fight' for Lawler

<p>As a man who spent five rounds in the cage with Robbie Lawler, former top contender Matt Brown knows exactly what it feels like to fight the champion.</p>
Lawler will next defend his welterweight title against Tyron Woodley, a man who Brown believes will stylistically be an 'easy fight' for the champion:
And while he has not held back his disdain for Woodley, Brown says he just doesn't like this matchup for the former Strikeforce title contender, personal feelings aside. Brown has faced Lawler in the Octagon and he knows just how tough he can be. He doesn't think that bodes well for Woodley at UFC 201.
"I think it's an easy fight for Lawler," Brown said. "I think it's sort of, I don't know if I'd say gimme fight, but I mean it's definitely, this is the type of fight Lawler should shine in. He's an extremely hard guy to take down and has all the tools on the feet, obviously, to knock Woodley out. Woodley has a chance in the early rounds and I think that's probably about it."

Probably because Matt has been in that octagon grinding, fighting the best fighters in the world. Meanwhile, Woodley has been sitting around on the sidelines with a sense of entitlement not fighting. I think most people with at least half of a brain know he doesn't deserve a title shot with that attitude. Could care less if his opponent missed weight once.

Please tell me which fight Woodley crushed a top contender? He is good not great and doesn't have the fight IQ or heart of Lawler. He will get crushed and most people will not be surprised.

Also Rory beat him via being the superior martial artist Woodley didn't gas and lose. He lost each and every round gassing more and more and getting beat worse and worse. I don't want to come off as a hater because when he imposes his will he is exciting. It just bugs me Wonderboy deserved it and if not him Maia has been much more impressive and deserving of a shot.

So basically, with the exception of Condit, he beats mid level guys and loses to the top dogs.
Woodley should not be fighting for a title right now. To be frank, his performances haven't warranted one and his record is far from glittering.
Not an easy fight, no fight at that level should be, but by far Lawlers poorest opponent in a long time.

Would be cool to see Robbie defend the belt for a third time, people didn't think he would win it, then said he wouldn't defend it, he is being doubted in every fight except this one
Woodley is crazy overated. If Condit hadn't blown his knee, you know Woodley would have gassed and got crushed. And that's his only decent win. Rory put a clinic on him and he looked stunned the whole fight. I imagine Lawler knocks him out within 3.
