Bruce Buffer brand blowing up

Do people really want to wake up to "Iiiiiiiit's TIIIME!"? Phone Post

Me and my dad always joked about Bruce-Buffer being low-rent Michael Buffer when we first started watching UFC in the early-2000s.

And really, if you consider their voices, how well they project, how long they can hold a note and all that technical stuff, I'd definitely say Michael is light-years ahead -- who'll ever forget, LEEEET'S GET REEEAAADY TO RUUUMMMMMMMMBLE!!," but it took watching MMA for a long time to truly appreciate how magical Bruce Buffer is.

Fuck the technical qualities of being an announcer! Bruce Buffer has such passion and such a tie to the sport, that it makes up for anything.

For anyone in this thread who hasn't seen it before, you need to look up --
1) Gifs of Bruce-Buffer before fights, he's literally Guida-Slapping himself in the face and shadow boxing in some

2) The origins of the Buffer-180 and the Buffer-360 bet with Rogan for UFC-100

And MOST IMPORTANTLY,
3) The Buffer-Trigg altercation XD

Buffer knows the sport and how to fight, he takes his job incredibly seriously, and most importantly, has an absolute love for his fans and the job he does. Always trying to donate money, raise awareness for the sport, or personally interact with his fans. His stories in interviews are always great too

/rant, but I can't understand someone hating on Brucey

KboyFresh - Although I would be embarrassed to appear in public wearing a Bruce Buffer T-shirt and I consider purchasing the Bruce Buffer biography to be a massive waste of money, more power to this guy. If there is a market for this junk, have fun peddling it.

Calling it junk seems unnecessarily harsh imo. I'd prefer a rando Buffer shirt to alot of other dumb MMA-shirts, and he's as good an icon in the UFC as any other imo

I'd buy a let's get ready to rumble shirt, so I could see myself wearing a funny Bruce shirt with IT'S TIME on it.

Also, although the bio isn't my cup of tea, Buffer is a BB in some martial art, has fought as a kickboxer IIRC, announced for a variety of K1 and smaller MMA-promotions and joined the UFC aaaaaallll the way back in UFC-10.

If anyone has an interesting perspective on the growth of the sport, getting into the, at the time, unknown martial-arts scene and would be able to provide cool insight on how the organization and its popularity grew -- I could see it being Buffer.

I mean sure, if he just jerks himself off for a couple hundred pages it'll suck, but I dont see why you immediately assume this is some junk resulting from an ego-trip. Far too dismissive and dickish imo

And go ahead an call me a white-knight, I'm just speaking my opinion, same as anyone else in this thread.

Good for the buffster. Phone Post

Wouldn't be the same without Bruce. And he gets very little attention and very little credit. People don't realize he's even there, because he never screws up.

Never heard his podcast but love the medium.. Anybody have insight on how good they are? Mostly MMA discussion?

Bruce is awesome. I've been lucky enough to meet him on a few occasions and have some pretty interesting convos with him. The guy is full of stories.

Couldn't find a nicer guy either. I can't say one bad thing about him.

Santa wish list :

His brother Michael might have the more famous signature catchphrase, but I think Bruce is the superior overall announcer.

Respect your opinion but I have to disagree. I think Bruce will always play second fiddle to Michael.

Bruce is as huge, huge, huge asset to this sport.

In terms of his announcing gig: bruce is more than an announcer. He's an emcee.

If you haven't been to a live event than you're only witnessing about a third of what he does in the octagon.

Ive met Bruce a couple times, he's a really nice guy and someone I want to play poker and go surfing with some day. He seems genuine and Im not sure why people are being dicks here..

he just finished in the top 20 a few hours ago in a huge world poker tour event in montreal. large field he made a deep run.
