Every time there is an eyepoke in a UFC fight, Joe Rogan goes on and on about the issues with the modern day mma glove, often citing a solution as some form of glove that covers the fingers but remains open enough so as to not nullify the ground game.
The kempo gloves (below) made famous by Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon may be a good place to start.
As you can see, the fingers are still visible, but they are covered enough to deny their entry into an eyesocket. Obviously these gloves would require an update, being that we are now nearly 40 years ahead of the film they were shown in, but I believe this could provide a blueprint to a less problem-prone glove.
they should wear the trunks too and ninja flip outta the octagon.
in for people with more experience grappling with gloves, im not sure how they would do
The thumbs! My god the thumbs!
Seems like theyd get in the way for RNC's
You would never be able to grab wrists or perform arm drags with those things on.

definitely down for ninja flips, although I'm not sure how ninja's relate to the Chinese Bruce Lee.
Aside from that, I roll with gloves when I can, and I can understand that the gloves above may provide issues in submissions and possibly even position grappling. I believed a refined version of the fingered glove above could be successful. There are a lot of smart people in this world who could make something work with those blueprints, that i am sure of.
