Buffer is 100% correct

The UFC can make Fedor a household name.

Let's be honest, Forrest Griffin, who is not half the fighter Fedor is, happens to be far more popular than Fedor.

Before everyone jumps on their anti-UFC crusade, let's look at the facts.

UFC is MMA in North America. UFC took a bankrupt company and made it profitable. UFC is responsible for TUF, which really launched MMA. Without UFC, smaller promotions would not exsist and would not be as popular, including strikeforce. Strikeforce is very well established, but would not be as popular without the work Dana and UFC have done.

UFC is many things, they are good at many things and likely bad at many things, but no one can argue that they are bad at marketing and promoting their brand.

It's obvious, Fedor does not want to be in the UFC. Humans by nature are tough, and when we really want to get something or do something, we will find a way.

Fedor simply does not want to be in the UFC and is taking the CO-Promotion thing and using it as an excuse.

Lesnar, Couture, Lidell, Ortiz have made millions, no doubt Fedor could make a lot of money, for sure more than he is making at strikeforce.

Not everyone thinks being a household name in the US and the extra money that comes with that is the purpose in life.

Paris Hilton =/= Fedor.

Fedor ran the Olympic torch for Mother Russia.

He is a household name where it matters to him.

Respec' the Russian for not bowing to Vegas.

Fedor is an introvert, he doesnt crave attention and fame like others.

Fact is Fedor is better known and a bigger draw throughout the world than Anderson or Machida.

Fedor is a household name now. I've talked to plenty of ppl that had no idea who he was that now love the guy.

Fedor is not a household name, no one besides people that read these forums know who he is. He is not a draw in the states, i'd like to see numbers backing up some of the fuckheads theories on this board. You can all make shit up all you want but the fact is the ufc does not need him. If he fought in the ufc it could do nothing but help him. Anyone stating otherwise is a complete retard which this board is full of.

So having the consensus best HW ever does nothign for the UFC?  LOL

Fedor might not be a Chuck or Randy level name in the US but he is a bigger draw round the world than the vast majority of UFC/MMA fighters.  His Arlovski fight was shown on a 1 day tape delay in UK got better numbers than any UFC event on the same channel in the same slot.  He just got seen by 4 million viewers in the US and who knows how many more millions in Japan and Russia.  The same cannot be said for most of UFC's champions.

In North America, perhaps.

Internationally, no one really knows, or cares who Forrest is, where as Fedor is known to millions.

"Tommie Harris is going Fedor Emelianenko on him."  -FOX NFL halftime analyst 11-08-09

"This football player reminds me of Forrest Griffin in some way"  -Nobody, ever.

LMAO

you mean buffer is correct in the thread your attention seeking dipshit ass should have posted in instead of making another fucking thread?

It wouldn't hurt to have the best heavyweight. It would hurt if he smashed the top UFC heavyweight and hauled ass to another promotion though. As it stands now Kimbo is worth more money than Fedor as far as buy rates and television ratings go. The general public don't understand why Fedor is so coveted and they won't until he smashes someone with name value like Kimbo or Brock.

Fedor gets visits from the leader of his nation...pretty sure that Chuck never got to chat 1-on-1 with the leader of his...Dana either for that matter. Fedor has true friends, with access to real power.

Paris Hilton =/= Fedor.

After last weekend he is. Do you have any idea the amount of replays we will get from that... He will be known nationwide. yahoo, espn, etc. all sports fans will know him, and thats really all you can ask. for. sports players have lost their luster in america overall.

Fedor will be just fine without the UFC.

LOL @ Kimbo and Brock. Yeah yeah two years ago people like you were saying the same thing (including BLAF) except then the names were Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski.

It's all bullshit, Dana just wants to own and control the whole sport (like his role model Vince McMahon does with fake fighting) and it makes him pissy that the Russian will not bow down to the Zuffa dollar.

Fedor will not be owned by Zuffa. If they really truely believed the shit they spew, they would set up the fight to prove their point...

"no one besides people that read these forums know who he is."

I've been in Thailand and Singapore and people know who Fedor is. Here in the Philippines people know Fedor before the Rogers fight and tuned in to that CBS show

Fedor needs the ufc?

Yeah... since he hasn't done shit with his career so far, I have to agree.

Again you fail to realise that America doesnt = the world.

Brock and Kimbo are nothing in Russia and Eastern Europe and not nearly as big as Fedor in Japan or Asia as a whole.

Re-read my last post, it seems to have gone WAY over your head.
