Bustamante vs Anderson Silva

I'd take Bustamante and so would you if you were smart.

is it better to be smart,

or correct???

In his prime, Bustamante was simply one of the best and most well rounded mixed martial artists ever. I'd never count him out of any fight. He took it to Liddell and Rampage, and he's a middleweight. He took it to Hendo and he tapped Lindland twice. Silva is the strong favorite against any middleweight, ever, but Bustamante can't be counted out.

HA! This.

I see everyone knows whats up.

Even DumbRevan didn't try to argue the winner of this match-up.

Great post. Of course you'd have to favor Anderson, but Bustamante would be a very live underdog(in his prime).

Busta is an all time fav, but has nothing for Anderson! Phone Post

There seems to be a lot of threads lately like, "Fighter X would school Anderson Silva"

There was a thread I read earlier saying Jake Shields would beat Silva.

Now, I'm not taking anything away from Bustamante. In his prime, he was an absolute beast. But Anderson is the GOAT for a reason.

For some reason, people on this forum have been looking at Silva like he is an easy fight. Phone Post

OP is a little obsessed with Anderson Silva.

I think Anderson silva is the goat but bustamante would give him a run for his money.

I think a prime bustamante beats any other middleweight and gives a lot of light heavy weights a run for their money.

Anderson beats him with distance and speed but it goes to decision and is very close. Phone Post

Busta is still the man, but the only time he might've beaten Ando is back in the pride era. Realistically, though, he's a classic boxer-bjj'er with limited wrestling, and the longer Ando would've smash-fucked him with Muay Thai in any era. Phone Post

Bustamante is too old to fight Silva. Both are studs though.

Limited wrestling? He completely schooled Lindland...

Busta is a terrible matchup for anderson

would take him down and is much better at bjj

Took it to Hendo?  He's 0-2 against Hendo, including getting knocked out inside of 1 minute.  Perhaps you mean he took it to Menne?

Anderson crushes him.  His Muay Thai is simply too devestating for a guy who would be forced to stand with him.

No, I mean he took it to Henderson (who is also one of my favorite fighters). First fight Hendo won with that stoppage. Sure. That's nice. But fans of both guys know they would have liked to see that fight continue.

The second fight, I scored for Bustamante.

Seems as good a time to address the "limited wrestling" comment as well. Just watch the fights, with Lindland and Hendo, and his takedowns for a sample of how limited his wrestling for MMA was

Marlons, wasn't it like a week ago in Narly's all time great poll that you said anyone who picked Bustamante was a moron because he never really accomplished anything? You're trying too hard brother.

Anderson is the greatest 185 lber of all time and would be rightly favored over any middleweight ever at this point, but Busta was an absolute stud and would have had a decent shot. Wouldn't pick him to win, but he would be dangerous.

Marlons going to work.
