18-1 Stots beat Archuleta in the quarters. Fighting 13-1 Sabatello who beat Higo in the quarters.
19-2 Magomedov beat Barzola in the quarters. Fighting 16-1 Mix who beat Horiguchi in the quarters.
Not a bad couple of fights to catch before the PPV tom.
Mix just submitted Gallagher with a guillotine before the tourny and then beat former Bellator and RIZIN BW champ Horiguchi in the quarters and now submitted Magomed Magomedov with a guillotine in the semis.
One of the if not the most impressive BW over the past year in the sport.
This is a great example of how limiting being in Bellator can be for a fighter.
If 14-1 Mix subbed Gallagher in the UFC and then beat Horiguchi in UFC and just submitted 19-2 Magomedov (who has beat Petr Yan) in UFC then the whole MMA world would be calling for him to be the next guy to get the title shot vs Sterling.
But because he is in Bellator…only like 20% of global MMA fans even know who he is.
Wasn’t impressed with either Raufeon Stots or Danny Sabatello. But Patrick Mix was super impressive
The new poster boy for the ufc is Sean O Malley and tbh I would favor Mix to beat him and finish him if they fought today
