UFC Quick Quote: Cain Velasquez ready to convert new fans with fight against Junior dos Santos on FOX
"The (UFC) took care of (the loss of pay-per-view income). They're telling us we're going to make so much out of it. It's all working out, so we're happy. ... I'm happy that they chose our fight. It's perfect timing. I want everybody on Fox to see my fighting style, to really become a fan of the sport. The way that I throw and the types of fights that Dos Santos has, it's going to do that. We're going to be guys that people are going to be looking to."
-- UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez tells USA Today he's overjoyed at the fact his employers felt his first title defense, against number one contender Junior dos Santos, was a worthy bout for the promotion's debut on network television. In addition to being taken care of for forgoing pay-per-view revenue to fight on free TV, Velasquez and dos Santos have been deemed the veritable torch bearers for the sport, the two men that Octagon king Dana White is "counting on" to deliver an exciting fight that will convert casual sports fans into paying customers. Velasquez believes his style of fighting, combined with the contests "Cigano" usually finds himself involved in, will be more than enough to make a believer out of any viewer still having doubts about whether or not to become a full fledged fan. Agree or disagree? And was Velasquez vs. Dos Santos the right choice for UFC on FOX on Nov. 12 in Anaheim, California?
