Camarillo's New Book "Submit Everyone"

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy in the mail yesterday. Along with the book was a letter from the publisher asking me to write an online review. Although, I have not yet finished reading the whole book, I want to start writing the review on each "file". This way all the info is still fairly fresh on my mind, and I can give a good honest review. They took a "military" theme approach in the writing. Which I personally like because it gives the book a different feel while reading. Plus it's just a cool way to go with Dave's "guerrilla" perspective. And this explains why there are "files" instead of chapters. Each file consist of a Situational Report "SitRep", Plan Of Attack "POA", Situation Normal all Messed Up "SNAFU" and an After-Action Report.

File 001: The Importance Of Submissions
What I noticed after reading this file is, Dave lays down some of the building blocks of becoming a finisher and establishing a finishers mindset. Along with how he handles specific "SitReps" and what to look for during each transition.
File 002:Introduction TO Guerrilla Tactics
Here, Dave goes into great detail of how he uses what he condsiders the three basic building blocks in guerrilla jiu jitsu. He also shows how liniking the three together in combination builds your submission game. Once again, keeping an emphasis on building you into a submission machine.
File 003:Assembling A Fire Base
In this section Dave gives insight on some postions that he uses to give him multiple attack options. And shows a crazy amount of ways to beat your opponents defense against armbars.
File 004: Assembling A Fire Team
Basically this section was made for anyone who loves armbars or is having trouble with them. Dave goes over many different setups for the armbar. In addition to all the setups, Dave shows what he looks for in his opponents base to stay with the submission while also advancing position.
File 005: Testing The Waters
Though this section is very short, Dave discusses the three elements that he believes WILL make you a submission master. Also he shows some technical drills that everyone can benefit from.
File 006: Attack, Withdraw, Ambush,& Retreat
Thought this section is short, Dave gives great insight on his attacking philosophy. Great read and my personal favorite in this book!
File 007: Creating Chaos & Psychological Operations
The title of this section basically explains everything. But to give a little insight on what is covered, Dave talks about how predicition is important and the frustation that it causes your opponent is "key".

My overall review of this book:
Not only will it make you a better grappler, but it'll teach you how to cause frustration in your opponents. Which is a huge part of becoming an elite grappler. Great read for anyone!

 Sounds cool

Jon Fitch started as a while belt under Dave. And he is currently one of his black belts, yet it's disappointing to see Fitch hardly goes for any submission in his recent fights. I'd like to see Fitch be more aggressive in this regard.

Fitch was given a copy of 'Submit Everyone' for Christmas.
Nothing but submission finishes from now on.

I know Dave trained under Ralph, but I don't know if he got his black belt from him.

Does anyone know who gave Dave his black belt?

Thanks Phone Post

Fillthy - If the content is fresh, the delivery method needn't be.
The TactiCool angle seems gimmicky.

Did you ever see his Position:Impossible set? Same thing. I just considered it as him sticking with a theme.

If everyone buys this book then no one will ever get submitted.

Sounds a bit like the Art of War breakdown.

waiting for more reviews...
