can APEX survive?

How many of you think APEX will survive it's first show? Now don't get me wrong this is a great card that I would pay to see but consider some of these factors, from my limited knowledge of fighter salaries I figure it will cost between 30 @ 40 thousand for them to show up, plus you have to fly them all in, put them up in hotel, food allowance, etc.
also there are only 2 french guys on the card and french guys are usually how that other promotion gets half it's fans, even though you or I might be excited to see guys like the freak, hallman, strebendt, etc. the average frenchman probably dosen't know who they are.
add on the fact that this is all going down on the sunday of a long weekend and it just dosen't seem to add up. I would like to hear your opinions on this.

They'll definitely have a second show. So in answer to your question, yes.

C

look who's talking

lol @ BSF :)

I hope Apex does great.

There's plenty of my support to go around whether it's TKO or Apex...

I'm new to the UG i don't even know what trolling is. I just wanted to know what other people thought about an opinion I have. Anyway giantsilvafan judging from most of your posts I take don't take anything you say seriously.

I think they will have a second show. Very important to support APEX if possible because it would be nice to have a respectful, quality show in Central Canada.

Goo dluck APEX. Canada needs more mma!

i thought the same thig but apex seems to be very well orgaized ad prepared to put i the work to make i happen. Some more local talent eve o a undercard basis woulds o doubt help the show as i agree the average joe blow doesnt know who anyone from out of tow is ..

i look forward to the show ad we should all get behind the quality fights being brought to us

Hey the more places for people to fight and for fans to watch the better. I hope all the organizations in Canada do well

Apex will have a second show...and a third, fourth, fifth etc. I believe we have the right nucleus to run an excellent event and promotion.

I was with UCC/TKO from the beginning and was always taking mental notes of what not to do. As successful as TKO is (and I do believe that it is much better than alot of other shows out there), I was able to decipher what the fighters, fans, commission, crew etc want out of a promotion.

Does Apex believe show #1, Genesis, will be as smooth as UCC 12, NOPE...it is a level we hope to achieve in time. Is Apex the next Pride or UFC?? They all started with a 'first show'. Go back and watch the tapes...you'll see a pleasant difference today, than what you saw yesterday.

We will succeed. We will be insulted, berated, backstabbed, complimented, cheered and jeered. But the bottom line is there will be SPECTACULAR matchmaking by AlexC, excellent show production from the APEX team, and much, much more.

Labour day weekend...a Sunday in Montreal...got anything better to do than get out to one of Canada's most beautiful and diverse cities on a long weekend? Road Trip, big city, MMA Fights, Long Weekend...sounds like an AWESOME TIME TO ME...:)

BSB...thanks for the props.

someone buy me plane tickets, hotel accomodations, food allowence, and front row tickets. Saskatchewan to Quebec ain't that pricy. Get me all of that and then I can get APEX sherdog.com coverage (if they don't have it already)

tdiddy,

I can say that from the Team and backing that APEX has, they are
on their way to offering fans great fights for MANY shows.

Having American fighters and UFC veterans is to the benefit of the
fans. Although local fighters sell tickets, I'm sure that the APEX
team has gone over that issue before and it is their risk to take.
Not ours as fans. The main thing is that fans get a high quality
show. Hopefully, true fans are numerous enough to appreciate
that and make APEX a success.

Also, you have to consider that there's a reason why some local
Quebec fighters and even Canadian fighters can't fight on the
upcoming APEX card : Some might be tied to another promoter
through Exclusive contracts. There are also other reasons that
would disappoint many fans but I feel it is not my role to air the
sport's dirty linen in public.

All I can say is that this is a great card for fans, APEX pays fighters
great purses and has been exemplary in their respect for fighters
needs and in their respect of Aristeia as managers.
No dishonesty, just respect.

I'm sure APEX has found a recipe for success.

If APEX cannot succeed with a great Team, a great card, a great
city, a great venue on a long weekend of MMA ... then we might as
well give up on MMA ever succeeding here.

Good luck!

Scott

Apex will do great. Everyone attatched to the org has experience and is prepared for what ever comes. Also these are people not interested in a short term process they love the sport and want to step up to the plate, do what they can to succedeed, and blow the dooors off of what Canadian MMA has senn as of yet!

judging from the responses it sounds like APEX is going to survive, this thread was not meant to discredit the show or canadian mma it was just something I wanted some feedback on. good luck.

Well said Scott.

hoping for an event dvd

hoping for eventual std

I hope JHR will be at the APEX event along with his great sense of humour.

TTT to JHR'S beard.

His sense of humour is a little sick though!
