Good, in order to improve you can't be the top dog in the room in all areas all the time.
The thing is if Connor goes to 170 there Is no doubt he would bulk up. Gunnar would probably still have a size advantage but I don't think it would be as much as people think.
As for the actual fight it would be classic striker vs ground fighter match up. Gunnar could dominate him on the ground, Connor could dominate him on the feet. Very interesting fight. Then again Connor vs any ground based fighter is very interesting no matter who it is.
People like Gunnar, Hendricks and Maia would be far tougher for him than Lawler. Lawler is one of the best possible match ups at WW for Conor

I mean while Gunnar was only training Jiu Jitsu Connor was only training striking, they are both masters of their craft before coming into MMA
Now would I say Connors advantage is as significant as Gunnar? No I wouldn't, Gunnar appears to be better on the feet than Connor is on the ground.

Apparently there was a fly on the wall that witnessed almost a full sparring session between the two, but before it could leave to spread the results, Conor noticed it and roundhoused it to its death. True story.
Not sure i believe Gunner tools him in training. I suspect he dominates in the ground training, but i doubt in a real fight he can get him there. If that was the case i doubt Connor would be taking on guys like rda.
Thought gunnar trained karate as a kid?
