greatness that is often overlooked in favor of hatred?

I didn't make it, just sharing it.
Blue name help please?
Mur.
Frank isn't bad I like his sub game a lot, he just has a weak chin and is goofy looking.
He was an athletic freak before the accident. Great kicks, all around great fighter. Showed undeniable heart in coming back from a horrific accident, and despite setback after setback, kept pushing forward, never offered an excuse when he came in second. There is no quit in this man.
That kimura on Nog was so slick. Damn.
I don't mind Mi. I don't like his trash talk all that much, but I admire his skill, his ability to come back from his accident and some shitty fights after it. And he is a pretty strong commentator as well.

People overblow his "trash talk," he very seldom actually trash talks. He offers prefight hype, but he is still respectful even if he conveys a bit of arrogance.
Mir has to be one of the scariest fighters to fight, because you know that if he pulls off the win, you are going to need help wiping your ass for a while.
You have to respect Frank Mir as a fighter if nothing else.

He is the definition of the word "fighter"
mir has pulled many miracles- i'll never count him out
i heard he is in fact the devil himself

Good point. I mean, I suppose fighters need to interest people in their fights sometimes. I am not a huge trash talk fan in general, that is more what I meant.

and thanks to yellow for embedding.
I don't get how people hate him so much. Imagine if he never got hurt in that accident what he could have been.
Now you'll see Frank Mir.

This. What people call trash talk is really Frank's intelligence. It's been my experience that people resent others who are noticably more intelligent than those around them. He can sell a fight, but usually he's just breaking down his own talents and that of his opponent.
Frank is in my mind, one of the best reasons to watch MMA. I started watching loyally because of three guys: Rich Franklin, Nick Diaz and Frank Mir. Rich for his hard work. Nick because I loved to see a skinny guy go ape shit and Frank because he was so cotdamn smart. Everyone else was landscape to me before I latched on to these guys.
Frank made me gain a type of respect for fighters that I hadn't had before that moment. I was like "okay, these guys are smart. Like book smart. Articulate. Polished. Calculating. Analytical. I can get in to this thing."

absolutely. I love listening to Frank break a fight down, or break a technique down. He's very intelligent, and more than that he's very capable of conveying that intelligence through speech. He was great calling fights for the WEC as well (even if he used the term "gots" and wiled out on his Miguel Torres man-crush a little too often).
