Can We Talk High-End 1911s and 2011s?

I’ve compiled a list. I’d like to see where you all would rank these guys. Wilson Combat, Cabot, STI, Nighthawk, Colt, Ed Brown.

1. Cabot

2. Nighthawk Custom

3. Wilson Combat

4. STI

5. Colt

6. Ed Brown

Hopefully the comments will reflect on people who actually own or have shot these guns.

Also, 2011’s. What say you?

I found the 2011 a big step up on 1911, they (obviously shoot well)

Spent an afternoon shooting STI 2011, awesome gun.

Took a with a brand new WC 1911, had 5 malfunctions.

Ed Brown and Colt are not high end.

What's the difference between a 1911 and a 2011. Is there actual design changes, or just a 100th year anniversary

The 2011 is usually a tuned 1911 with a double-stack mag. You’ll notice higher capacity, lighter triggers, higher quality barrels, and usually a combination of optics, flared magwells and such. It’s a 1911 “brought into the 20th a century,” hence the name.

Currently STI has a trademark on the term “2011” since its debut in John Wick chapter 3, when it became famous instantly.

I agree that Colt is mid tier, but you’re crazy about Ed Brown.

Between Colt and top tier is Dan Wesson.

Bill Wilson will tell you take his pistols new out of the box, do not disassemble, clean, or lube them, and fire 500 rounds through it to "run it in."   Then clean and lube for the first time.

Springfield isn't top tier. Upper mid tier.  Their tricked out ones are nice, though.

I prefer them over Colt.

1.  No they don’t

2. STI is defunct. The company is now staccato

3. 2011s were extremely popular in the competition world long before John Wick

4. STI was never considered ‘high end’

Cabot makes many beautiful guns and left handed 1911s. Would like to own one.
