Canada's deepest division?

In your opinion, what is the deepest MMA division in Canada? I'm saying Middleweight with Light heavyweight a close second. You?

LW has some pretty serious depth, imho

LW and SLW by far imo.

185 is stacked, top division IMO. Loiseau, Kang and Doerksen are all top ten caliber guys. Plus Vigneault, Fontaine, Potvin, Pierson and Sandford. Any of those guys can beat top competition, no problem. That is 8 world class guys from one country. SICK!!!

LHW is not bad, with the top 3 all being very good.

LW and SLW are also very stacked.

170 is not bad either with Carlos and George leading the way but it could be better.

HW sucks ass.

C-Hamzeh is correct.

IMO, in the top 10 of LW, #'s 3-10 can beat each other on any given day.

Menji and Gill are 1 and 2, a step ahead of most, but I don't think untouchable.

MW in my opinion...this will change within 6 months.

The depth to each division will naturally grow, but it will also grow in the world scene. Our guys just need the exposure to get recognized.

The time is coming very, very soon. Some real match making and some real organization to the scene is fast approaching. I can't wait.

In terms of world class I think it is middlewieght with Light Heavy a close second.

In My Opinion The Middleweight division is the deepest by far.

David Loiseau, Denis Kang, Chris Fontaine, Joe Doerkson, Steve Vigneault, Kyle Sandford, and on top of that Carlos Newton has now moved up to Middleweight, starting his climb there against Daijyu Takase at Pride Bushido 3. Sean Pierson could also be VERY good if he trained full time, althought it has been rumored that the 170 pound division is in his future.

There is NO comparison, no other weight division in Canada has been able to produce fighters that have had success in America and overseas like the Middleweight division. Gary Armbrust fought at Light Heavyweight in the past but might be better off as a middleweight if he is comfortable with the weight cut, he is undefeated too.

Lightheavyweights or lightweights do not compare at this point IMO. Ivan Menjivar fights many of his fights at 145 as well as lightweight. Gill is the best Lightweight in Canada IMO.

Arnold Lim is correct. 205 is the deepest division in the Canadian scene.

I'd say 145 comes close behind (I consider Menjivar more of a SLW than an LW, so he helps load that division up big-time), and 205 would probably come in third.
