GSP is the man and nobody even comes close to his level. The Crow, Goulet, Joslin and Cote were all brought in with big hype and we've yet to see somebody beat a top fighter besides GSP. Aside from Joslin's debut, these other guys were given multiple chances. I was really going for Joslin tonight but no takedown defense equals a loss. I hope GSP holds the belt for a long time, but there's no way with the current talent base that another fighter from Canada will become a rising star.
(ends with Don King holding US and Canada flags smiling)
I thought Kang was from South Korea? Anywho, I agree that Josh won by laying down. Still, he had several takedowns that Joslin had no answer for. Guys like Rashad and Kos have the formula to beat most fighters by points.
Joslin was trying to let his hands go more in the 3rd, but Kos bailed out and wanted nothing to do with it, and went for the takedown.
Menjivar is a star at 145, so is Carvalho for that matter.
Horodecki is a rising star at lightweight. Stout and Hominick both have very bright futures as well. Maybe not champs but they will be around for a while doing good things.
Canada is only getting started when it comes to mma. pound for pound, per capita, definitely holding it's own.
how many other countries comparable in population as Canada (30 millon) are doing signifcantly better at putting out fighters in MMA than Canada anyways?
jacktripper, aside from what they claim, the UFC pumps out "exciting fighter out of Canada" everytime GSP is announced. Plus, I don't think Jeff Monson claims to be American either.
so why is GSP wasting his time going around to various parts of Canada trying to promote the sport of mma in this country. why does he give a shit? he's under no obligation. a true seperatist wouldn't waste his time that could obviosuly be better spent. until someone can come with a direct quote, it's all speculation and wishful thinking on the part of Americans to try and downplay the fact that their good ol all America country boy got whooped by a French Canadain who happens to be the world champ, and one of the best lb 4 lb in the sport.
