It sounds like a good idea. There are so many "for the cure" running events right now, that a BJJ seminar or tournament would probably generate a good turn out. I think that knowing that your money is going to a good cause would bring out people who wouldn't normally attend the event Phone Post 3.0

I'd be careful about picking WHICH charity the money goes to because many charities are close to a scam, with the majority of funds collected going to the cost of running the charity itself.

There are some sites that rate charities like Charity Navigator, CharityWatch.org, etc.

I think it's a great idea. And 12, huge props to and Shen for organizing this for Gary. Really an amazing job! Phone Post 3.0

We've been thinking of doing city wide open mats/grapple-a-thon events for a while now. We've worked with Tap Cancer Out before and respect what they're doing.

I always pictured selling a Tshirt or rash guard woh sponsors on it. Anyone that buys the shirt has entrance to any participating gym. No politics no bs just training for a good cause. Phone Post 3.0

The event was awesome and I think it's a good idea. I would just caution that they shouldn't be done too often.

Sounds great,

Or you should get a functioning national affordable health care system. And petition / lobby / vote on the right people to get it.
