Cannabutter?

Just made a batch of brownies and I was wondering if its possible to re-use the leftover butter soaked material to make some more butter.

I realize it wouldn't be as potent but in hindsight I feel I could have let it sit on the stove for a couple more hours to extract all the goodness. Phone Post 3.0

Mayor McCheese - Just re-strain it while pouring boiling water over it. You likely wont get much more out, but maybe a bit depending onnhow well you strained the first time Phone Post 3.0
Thanks man.

Can I store it until I'm ready to do that? Like in the freezer? Phone Post 3.0

What is a simple recipe for it ? I fucked it up the one time i tried to make it Phone Post 3.0

Grind it really fine and boil it with butter. The heats extracts the THC and it binds to the fat in butter.

ALSO USE BUTTER, NOT MARGARINE!!!!

I cant stress this enough. There is not fat the right fat in margarine. Phone Post 3.0

This. You need to simmer it on low heat to keep it from burning. Phone Post 3.0

Aren't you supposed to decarb it or something first? I was going to use my leftover trimmings to make some but it seems too complicated. Phone Post 3.0

Use a double boiler. Phone Post 3.0

You can add it to coconut oil, boil in double boiler, the strained oil will be strong. 195 degrees for 1 hour Phone Post 3.0

I clarify the butter first. bring the plain butter to a simmer and you'll see a foamy white layer form on top. scoop this away and what will be left will be a nice golden color. Basically it will look like the butter you get for lobster tail or crab.

From there add your trim to the pot. You can use a double boiler, but if you keep the heat low and watch it there's no need. Just simmer it for like an 3 hours or so, DO NOT let it get to boiling temp. Stir it every five or ten minutes. There should be small bubbles but not a boil of any kind. If it gets too hot the THC will vaporize and leave you with shit.

After that's done there's a couple of different things you can do. I usually just let it cool for about ten or fifteen minutes and transfer into tupperware, then into the fridge. Some people swear by dumping the whole thing into ice cold water then scooping it out and pressing into a container. I've also just set the pot I was using to heat it right into the fridge but I'm not a fan of that method.

Google the temp. I think it's like 160 where things get destroyed vs unlocking Phone Post 3.0

Don't want to derail the thread but anyone made any cannacaps? I plan on trying to make some shortly. Phone Post 3.0

Appreciate all the help. I definitely should have let them simmer longer but the brownies came out pretty good. Ate a couple today and was feeling nice. Threw em in the freezer and just ganna break a couple out here and there.

Next time I make them I'm going to use a more potent strain and take my time with the whole process. Phone Post 3.0
