For those who say hockey players don't belong in an MMA fight...Heres Jeremy Yablonski's first MMA fight a few years back

Not if the UFC was held on ice, with competitors required to wear skates.

The Penguins were on the verge of extinction.

I can't believe that nobody Martin tried to give Talbot the Bertuzzi treatment. I'm all for fighting in the NHL, it's part of the game and always will be. But there's no place for that shit.

Anyway, they showed Eric Goddard hitting the pads on the HBO 24/7 series. Deryk Engelland is the new heavyweight in town though, even though he's only just a bit over 200 lbs. Bad dude.

Let's Go PENS!! 2010-2011

LOL - I have never watched a game of hockey so forgive me ignorance, but I didn't realize the referees allowed the fights to go on for so long. I thought they would break them up pretty quick, but it looks like they wait for someone to get dropped before stepping in. Kind of bizarre but hilarous

A few reasons for this. First, the ref doesn't want to catch a punch from jumping in while they are still swinging. Second, if a ref jumps in to grab one guy, the other guy may have a chance at a free shot while the ref is holding him. And also, it's just fun to watch them fight for a minute.

I love hockey and was watching this game, but this shit was insane. Pens finished with 6 players on the bench LOL.

When do they play again?

Edit : GO KINGS

April 8th is the rematch. Expect nothing from it.

cause of the 100k fine to the team and players getting suspended, after this fiasco you know the NHL will be telling them to not make a repeat without even more harsh repricusions and being at the end of the season near playoffs the last thing you want is to get guys suspended when playoff positions are being secured.

For the life of me I don't get why do they allow fights to happen in Hockey.

It's just barbaric, and this shit won't and shouldn't fly in other sports.

I live in Canada, but I just don't get this part.
