                    <blockquote>

"I just hate the guy," said Shane Carwin of Roy Nelson to MMAjunkie.com Radio. "I'll fight him in the street. I don't care. … It's hard to like a backstabber."

"He's a bulls----er. 'I'll stab you in the back when you're not near me, but when you're near me, let's shake hands and talk about UFC contracts and try to throw them under the table,' – the same type of bulls--- he always does. I just wasn't up for it. I didn't want to talk to the guy. I don't like him."

"They show all the drama in the house. They really don't show the training. Have you seen much training? No. You've maybe seen, what, five minutes of it in all the episodes? What they're not showing is that there's a lot of things I do to help these guys.

"I bring in coaches that are professionals at those positions: the boxing, the kickboxing, the wrestling, the strength and conditioning. I brought in a strength and conditioning coach that was Missy Franklin's strength and conditioning coach. That hasn't been expressed on the show. I don't think [Nelson] even had a strength and conditioning coach. I don't even know if he knows what strength and conditioning is."

"I am working on their mental game. I'm probably working on the most important part of their game in that house the whole time. That's what I worked on with these guys. That's what I focused on with my part with them and to make sure that I structured the practices with the coaches. I walk around, I see what the guys need, and then I address that to the coaches after practice so we can work on it the next time."

"When they called me, I was hesitant to take this because those eight kids, their lives depend on me and me coaching them and giving them the opportunity to live their dream. That's very serious. This isn't some bulls--- position that I can go joke off or jack off or do whatever I want to do on there. This is very serious. This is a professional part to me.

"If I can help affect these guys and give them the ability to fight in the UFC and live their dreams, then that's doing your job. It's not boosting my ego. I could care less how people perceive me. My job is to those eight guys. You go and talk to those eight guys, and you ask them how it went for them."

Totally agree with shane.

Nelson seems like a shitty coach so far.

Making fight decisions by picking straws?
Come on now. That isn't in the best interest of your fighters.

There's a reason you're the coach. To coach. Not to leave things to a random straw pick because you don't care enough about it to try to make a favorable match up for your fighters. Phone Post

Nelson seems like a shitty coach and a very selfish person.....I cn't believe I used to be a fan of this guy....I hope Shane puts him to sleep......

Love his attitude, certainly there for the right reasons.

Failed attempt at boosting the rating for TUF. I don't think anybody cares about some artificial, reality TV fued anymore.

I especially like the point Shane made about how the show focuses on contrived drama in the house and not on the training and instruction the fighters are getting from the coaches.

As an mma fan, that is what is interesting to me, not the shit in the house. Phone Post

Thatsjustlikeyouropinionman - Please, Shane. Knock him the fuck out. Phone Post

This would actually be a huge deal

Not even jds could put nelson away.

I'm rooting for it Phone Post

Nothing but respect for carwin! Very very true what he says! Phone Post

epic punch vs epic chin.  Does Carwin have enough power to be the guy to finally knock this guy unconscious?

With the way that Roy leaves his face open and the bombs that are Carwins fist, gonna be lights out Phone Post

Cause JDS had pillow fists when he fought Roy?

I liked Nelson before TUF. Now I think he's a selfish putz. Carwin comes off as a dude who wants his guys to succeed. Nelson comes off like one of those Southern football coaches that views his players as obstacles to his own glory. I thought Carwin was a good dude before TUF, now I'm a fan.

Carwin by brutal KO in the 1st.....(Nelsons chin gotta be getting weaker after all the punishment from JDS & Werdum..)

Or Big Country by submission in the 2nd........

Could be either.

Completely different striking style Phone Post

Agreed.

Don't get me wrong, JDS hits HARD, but Carwin's like a heavyweight Prime Chuck, he throws bombs from the parking lot.  That being said, I still think it's be a huge deal if/when Carwin knocks him the fuck out.

If he lands that lunchbox on Big Country, he's going to sleep.

Yea but a past his prime Arlovsky could.  You just have to get it on the button.

Man I'll be pulling for Carwin to put him to sleep... Carwin sounds like he brings passion and the engineering mind to his training camp which is great for his guys. It's that process that is interesting to me, the rest is trash entertainment you can find anywhere else. Phone Post

Say what? Phone Post

Roy Nelson obviously just wanted some tv time, can't blame him for it though.

A poster on here said, before the season aired, that a lot of people wouldn't be Roy Nelson fans afterwards.

Roy's coaching and lack of likeability remind me a lot of when Ken Shamrock coached TUF. Phone Post

It's hard to like a shit stabber also Phone Post

Nelson by patty-cake.
