cauliflower ear treatment

hi, i'm getting some cauliflower ear, does anybody know if in canada i need to make an appointment to get it looked at and then another appointment to get it drained, or could i just tell him i need to get my cauliflower ear drained and then go in and get it done? thanks.

Do it yourself w/ an insulin syringe doesn't hurt.

chicks love it.. leave it

I wrestle and do BJJ in Canada. My ear swells up ever couple of months now. I got it drained by my family Doc. the first time...the other ear is bugging me now and I'm going to get that drained soon. The family Doc drained it on the first appointment for me. I have a friend whose ear was really bad, so that actually had to use a scalpel (sp?) and cut the tip of his ear...it took a month to heal and he had to wear a cone and tape around his head - all the time for about a month!!! I found that draining it once dosn't do much if you are still training...It will fill up with fluid again. Someone on the form recommended draining it every day for a week. Cheers! Hope it works out.

Get it drained ASAP. Depending on location, it may need a temporary compression bandage, but a stitch may do it if you're lucky about placement. It won't heal back perfectly, but will look better than the ugly-ass potatoes that some guys claim are badges of honor.

I've never, EVER met a woman that digs fugly potato ears. However, if they like you they may overlook it.

Do cauliflower ears ever become permanent? I don't think i've seen Randy Couture without cauliflower ears =\

Yes, cauliflower ears become permanent if the swelling is not drained and compressed. This is because the cartilage in your ear will reshape itself around the swelling and retain the new shape if it sits long enough.

Don't be Mr. Potato Head. Get it treated.

I went to a piercing place and bought some 14 guage needles to drain mine. It works well.

you could just wear earguards
