It helps build up abdominal muscle mass in key areas to nullify strikes like CB took from Machida.

Sometimes I reckon these heavily ripped lean guys can't take the body shots as well as a fighter with some cushion. It's like the muscle takes the trauma and bruises up real quick.

There's a mid kick cover that will mitigate but nobody could eat that kick in that manner no matter what type of situps they rep
