Now that the merger is complete, one fight that I'd really like to see is Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz (as long as Nate will continue to fight at 155). It could be an awesome standup war or an even better ground fight. Both guys can finish off their backs, and have a knack for snatching up quick submissions. Plus I think it's a good matchup to see where Cerrone stands in the UFC's lightweight division. Both guys bring it and look to finish every fight.
Thats an exciting fight for sure. I'd think Nate by sub but wouldn't be surprised if it was a standup battle for a bit.

Nate lost 3 of his last 4 at 155, and the win was Melvin Guillard. He's not exactly a top dog at lightweight and I don't see why he should be out of Cerrone's reach right now.

Cerrone needs an easier test fight to see how he really compares to what the ufc have. but this fight has awesome written all over it in truth

Diaz would tool that cowboy hat wearing fool. Cerrone is what 1-4 in his last 5 he sucks it was only Jamie Varners decline that made him look good

Let's see Diaz vs some top competition, he deserves it.
Great fight, Diaz will wreck him though.
Diaz is 2-3 in his last five fights at LW, Cerrone is 3-2. Granted this was in the UFC LW division VS the WEC's, but I still think that they are both right in the middle to upper tier talent levels. Right below guys like Edgar, Penn, Maynard, Dunham(ya I think he's up there),and Florian.
I think it's the perfect test for Cerrone before he has to start fighting the strong, controlling, wrestler types. Lets face it, Maynard wins fights, but is anybody really excited for the Edgar?Maynard fight? Too bad UFC couldnt set up Cerrone/Diaz to add some excitement to that card.
And honestly, I think Cerrone pulls it out. Nate's durable, but I think Cerrone's stand up is more versatile (kicks are much better) and has more pop than Diaz. And who's to say Diaz's ground game is that much better? Cerrone is really active off his back and has finished 10 fights by sub.

i think this fight is one of the most evenly matched and exciting fights to be made in the ufc right. both guys similar build, both effective standup, both good grapplers...and both mean as fuck. great fight...hope it happens.
