"Unfortunately the after fight skirmish shifted the focus away from what was probably Jake and Gil's biggest wins and that was very disappointing. We're a very tight team and in all the years we've hung out together there has never been a team street fight or anything like that associated with us. After reviewing the tape I think I saw alot of blame on all sides. I have spoken to my guys and with Strikeforce to make sure this never happens again. There were people in there that had come to support our team that really should never have been in there as well. Those people that participated have been banned from future events. I'll be honest and tell you I think there has been somewhat of a double standard when it comes to MMA. I frequently attend hockey games and if a fight breaks out it's routine and the fans have come to expect it. Fights happen in every sport and it's really not a big deal but if a fight breaks out at a fight between fighters it seems like some people want to act like it's the end of the world and pretend they are outraged. That night in Nashville was emotionally charged and I wish cooler heads would had prevailed. I think it would be better if we fight in a professional manner and not in free for alls. For the disruption it has caused we are sorry and would like to extend an apology."

at hockey or baseball or something.. what there happens are team fights, what happened at strikeforce was the cesar gracie team, beating down mayhem, punching him and kicking him against the head while he was on the ground...
and hockey fighters, dont train to fight, if a group of trained professional fighters decides to go 10 on 1 and then be this brutal, its a complete different story... if you want to compare it, you can compare it to 10 hooligans finding 1 fan of an other team and he asks them when they gonna get their rematch :)
they can be lucky, they weren´t good enough to hurt mayhem...
SkinnyBitch - "There were people in there that had come to support our team that really should never have been in there as well. Those people that participated have been banned from future events."
who exactly are they referring to there?
There were alot more people in the cage than there should have been. It was like everyone from Cesars gym somehow got in there. You will never see that many people allowed into the cage after a UFC fight and that is how it was uncontrollable after it got to a certain point. If guys from Hendersons corner never got involved and dragged guys like nate diaz away the brawl would have been going on alot longer than it was.
lol@comparing MMA to the fucking hockey. Good god what an embarrassment. Few more years im gonna have to go around claiming to be a pro wrestling fan to keep from getting made fun of for caring anything about MMA

His boys all acted like a bunch of cunts. Sure Mayhem shouldn't have been in the cage, neither should the hangers on. There's still no excuse for them attacking a man when he's down.
I'm surprised Miller never got seriously hurt after that onslaught.
CarwinSmashBrock - The whole point is no matter what Mayhem says or how bad of timing his interruption was jumping him is not a justifiable reaction. We are Humans and have the ability to communicate by speech. We are not animals that establish rankings within their group by fighting to establish dominance. The diez brother think the world is like GTA you do whatever you want and in that situation it showed how stupid they are. Mayhem asked for a rematch he didnt say team Gracie r a bunch of pussy's.
Yeah but for about 50% of the nimrods here,it was justified.
And most of the green namers here seem to support what Diaz and friends did, which is disappointing, but does not surprise me.
Apparently you aint "cool","tough"or "honorable" if you consider gang beating prosecutable, criminal behavior.
Anyone who tries to make excuses for this by comparing it to other sports is an remorseless idiot who is just trying to justify it once again.(including Cesar Gracie)
Look what happened to Ron Artest a couple years ago in the NBA.
Can you imagine what David Stern would do if 1/2 the Chicago Bulls attacked Lebron James during a post-game interview?
None of them would EVER play basketball again, and they would probably be arrested that night.
The Diaz brothers and their friends are street thugs, nothing more, who advocate group violence, illegal drug usage, offensive gestures in every photo op they get, disrespect to almost everyone, and god knows what else.
