UFC newcomer Chad Corvin meets Joey Beltran at UFC 113 in Montreal

A heavyweight matchup between recent UFC addition Joey Beltran (11-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and newcomer Chad Corvin (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been added to "UFC 113: Machida vs. Shogun II." The UFC today officially announced the matchup, which is expected to take place on the evening's preliminary card.

UFC 113 takes place on May 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The main card airs live on pay-per-view.

Beltran debuted for the UFC at February's UFC 109 event with an upset win over the highly touted Rolles Gracie. Beltran avoided Gracie's dangerous submission game and used a ground-and-pound attack en route to a second-round TKO win.

Prior to his UFC debut, the longtime Total Combat and King of the Cage fighter, was best known for a TKO of UFC vet Sherman Pendergarst at a May 2009 Bellator Fighting Championships event, as well as a January TKO win over Houston Alexander. Beltran has posted stoppages (10 knockouts and one submission) in all 11 of his career wins.

Meanwhile, Corvin brings an undefeated record to the octagon.

A Kentucky native who trains with the Elizabethtown-based Etown Beatdown camp, Corvin has earned all six of his career victories by first-round stoppage. Corvin hasn't fought since February 2009, but the 6-foot-5 slugger brings dynamic power to the cage. None of Corvin's six opponents has lasted longer than 99 seconds, and three of his wins have come in 46 seconds or less.
