Chael Sonnen is famous for many things but probably to most MMA fans, he is perhaps the sports most famous runner-up. With an incredible fight resume against the greatest of all time, Sonnen was never able to capture a title. But I think that Cowboy Cerrone is MMA's greatest runner-up. He holds so many UFC records but has fallen short in almost every big fight of his career. So if Cowboy is the greatest runner-up, that bumps Chael to runner-up once again. Thus entering a paradox in which Chael Sonnen becomes the Chael Sonnen of Chael Sonnens.
I'll remember Chael more for always being game to fight anyone. Him trying to fight Jones on short notice when Henderson pulled out (which Jones declined as we all remember) and then later on when he actually fought Jones, he immediately volunteered to step in for an injured Noguera against Shogun on very short notice (that fight ended up getting delayed anyway, but then it did happen a couple months later and Sonnen had a great performance).
This is the kind of shit we love from fighters. Everything doesn't always have to be about the wins and losses and promotional belts. I'm not saying those things aren't important; obviously they are. But defining a fighter's career by the win column just doesn't tell the whole story.
And I know this is the UG so MOST of you are going to say "BUT BUT STEROIDS!!!!" Ok.

Chael will fight anybody. But he also quits at the first sign of danger. Even he has acknowledged that.
Still love chael though. Best mic guy in mma. Makes conor look like tito in the smack talk / promo department.
