champion kickboxer vs 44-0 pakistani...fun to see

Strykr619 - 1987 Don put in UFC 1, would of KOed Royce and not get suckered into the ground.

well he did know how to wrestle so

very hard for royce to take down

Don’s opponent looks like the character models in the arcade game Ring King.

That’s a nice display of TMA master vs a fighter.

Don was a beast! he was toying with the guy until he decided to put that fraud out of his misery.

ChomskyBlackBelt -
Chitat - Wilson is one of the all time great American kickboxers and a pioneer of kickboxing in America, having been there right from the start. Definitely not just an actor, he was a legit fighter.

He also fought full Thai rules 5 times in Thailand and Hong Kong. Winning 4 of those fights against the Thais, despite never having trained in Muay Thai, but fought a good amount of his career under WKA (International/low kick) rules.

He might have done pretty well in the earlier UFC’s too with his college wrestling background and striking skills. He was never any kind of “NCAA champion” or anything like that in wrestling, but he knew how to wrestle.

Yes sir!

The Dragon is an absolute legend.

I have zero doubt the man would have done very well in modern MMA.

agreed, he is a legend and VERY UNDER RATED

one thing about the old american kickboxers

maybe their style was not the most effective way

BUT

they were down to fight

they fought under their rules and often under different rule sets

fighting city to city etc

many of them also had a rep for being tough street dudes as well

also Don had an unorthodox style as well

i am happy to see that my thread has inspired the front page of this site lol

too bad no one tracked down this “tma master”

be nice to question him on his record and try to find

all those people he fought and ko’d

because there is a list lol
