Nice Vid.
Both Brent and Alder are very skilled and knowledgeable, looking forward to more vids!
thanks for the compliments all
dan, come in at night and i will be there so that we can talk.
as far as posting your head, it is an integral part of side control transitions. as you are moving your head, you are also pulling your opponents arms over his head. with his arms there, it is much harder for him to push you away because he cant benchpress you anymore, he has to try to do a pull up motion to move you back down lower. plus, he cant use his far hand anymore to block your mount, and if he gets squirrly enough, you can just jump over that far arm and put him in a triangle. the high side control sets up a lot of techniques that just sitting there doesnt.
i will post a new vid soon. it will be on how to pass half guard when the opponent has one butterfly in, or as it is known at tenth planet: passing the stomp
double post, sorry
lol @ not falling for the quarter guard. When mounted, you'll take any damn thing your legs can get, and Brent has an awesome quarter guard from the bottom too.
chickity check
JR - Awesome! How about diffrent ways to pass the lock down?
Actually that would be a good tutorial.
Brent, how's about you and me show these boys the ol' West Hollywood "Buttock Compressor".
"Are you the guy in the vid that brent was demonstrating the technique on?"
Nope, I'm the guy with the serious camera skills. =)
gusto - ive been working the sprawl pass against the lockdown
