I’m up in Chicago this weekend and I was curious if anyone had any recommendations.

Carlson Gracie HQ is in the Logan Sqaure neighborhood.  There’s a fundamentals/self defense class Friday at 7pm with an open mat at 8pm.  The class is geared towards beginners and there’s usually 2-3 black belts on the mat.  The open mat has a good mix of belts and is mostly gi.

There’s also open mat Saturday from 11am-1pm.

What are you looking for/interested in?

If you are on the northside I always reccomend Jeff Serafin BJJ in Evanston.

Cool I might try to check out the open mat tomorrow if I’m not too hungover. I made it to Carlson’s the last time I was here. I’m in town for a friend’s birthday so it’s 50/50 I’ll be able to make it lol. I was hoping to make it to a gym last nignt but we got in too late.

Well I ended up at a chicks place after The Radler so no training for me lol. I think I took a loss on this one

Silver. Jay Valko is a great dude and a personal hero of mine. He’s a fantastic teacher and has one of the most visitor-friendly schools around.
