question for those savvy in asian politics.
i've been reading of increased aligning of political factions within the civilian chinese government with senior officers in the military. is this just political grandstanding or is china headed toward civil war at some point?
it seems like chinese politics becomes more and more nasty with each generation of leadership.

"Like a decade ago, feuding civilians sought the support of the generals and admirals, making them arbiters in the party's increasingly rough game of politics.
The result of discord among civilian leaders has been a partial remilitarization of politics and policy. Senior officers are now acting independently of civilian officials, are openly criticizing them and are making pronouncements in areas once considered the exclusive province of diplomats."
will china eventually have a civil war, will a military officer with too much power and toys at his disposal stage a coup, or is this just political grandstanding?
