In 3 short years, Chuck piled up losses to Rampage, Jardine, Rashad, Shogun, and Rich with one sole win over Wanderlei Silva.
Nobody says that Chuck was never an all time great. Chuck went 0-3 in his last 3, and people call him washed up, but most people agree that he was a consensus all time great.
However, why isn't the same courtesy extended towards Fedor when he goes 0-3 in his last 3, yet still has an impressive 30 plus wins with only 4 losses on his career tally. Is it because Chuck lost in the Octagon, where he built his name?
brahmabull81 - This will be a civil discussion.
It should be, because my point is completely rational and level headed. Chuck's legendary title defense streak included Jeremy Horn, Randy Couture, Renato Babalu Sobral, and Tito Ortiz, 3 fighters that he had previously beaten and all fighters that he had previously faced, yet I'm not going to crap on his achievements, because anybody who watched at the time knows that they were the BEST the UFC had back then.
to play devils advocate.
i dont think anyone ever has said Liddell was the Goat or Best LHW ever.
when people talk about fedor they always use the ter Goat or best HW ever. i think that pisses people off who dont look at him as such.
but to get the topic back on track
Liddell was way overrated :-)
lol you jumped head first into that one
imo mike tyson was never a top 100 HW because he was beaten by danny williams
- OG NOOBS
The Fedor hate comes mostly from those who only got into MMA w/ the UFC starting up TUF. Liddell was on top at that time, so I think they have a better understanding of his accomplishments.
Bear in mind when Liddel was at his peak he was battered by Rampage over in Pride.
If you want to talk overrated heres two names Ken Shamrock and Randolph Couture.
Fedor is certainly one of the sports better fighters until now, imo. At his peak, fighting roided up top tier fighters he was invincible. He is obviously on the way down now.
Nah, according to the shilldom, Chuck was a farce, an myth. Add to that, Ortiz, Hughes, Couture, Coleman etc.
IMO, no point trying to argue with morons that believe Fedor was a hyped up myth. They are just sad that he was a Pride fighter and left his run in the chicken mesh to the last part of his career.
both guys will always be legends to me for the amazing streaks of dominance they displayed.
BlahBreh -vruntson - Nah, according to the shilldom, Chuck was a farce, an myth. You obviously haven't been to sarcasm school
Chuck was an all time great, what are you talking about?
