He will get paid more for his fight than 90% of the fighters the UFC has ever had that have ever stepped into the cage to compete regardless of the number of times they have competed. He will get paid more than 20 fight veterans, more than many of the big names and gatekeepers that have never managed to hold a belt, probably paid more on a check to check comparison than many title holders.
People might say he is already rich and doesn't really need or care about the money but I guarantee getting paid ~$750k for 15 minutes is a hard thing to turn down for just about anybody.

I remember when that happened. It wasn't first recorded as the fastest KO because the timer lagged a little in stopping it or something. Ludwig bitched on every media outlet who could and it was finally changed nearly a year or so later.

The real negative here isnt just CM punk getting to fight in the UFC, it's that 0-1 and 0-1 mike jackson is getting a shot in the UFC TWICE because of CM Punk. They should have found a celebrity opponent

Once I saw this I just remembered I had a dream last night where Punk got knocked out(well down) the first punch in the first few seconds. After a few seconds he popped back up but a normal MMA ref would have stopped it....such a weird fucking dream

I posted in another thread about him but found more. He's 0-1 as a pro and 0-1 as an ammy according to sherdog, but he has an ammy win on tapology and a video on youtube, so he's 1-1 as an ammy. He lost to Gall in 45 seconds, whereas Punk lasted two minutes. He's a pro boxer, but his record is 4-0 against guys who had a combined record of 0-8, all total tomato cans. Everybody he boxed had a losing record going in the match. Tapology also shows one muay thai fight that he lost.
In the Jackson fight on youtube, the guy he's fighting never ever goes for any kind of grappling, it seriously looked like it was a boxing sparring match with small gloves, other than he did drop the guy for a second, other than that, uneventual decision.
If Punk loses to him, then he probably cannot win a single regional fight at 170.
