theyll prolly attribute it to obamas policies

There are people here attributing the post election stock market rally to Obama.

LOL...so predictable

As CNNMoney has pointed out before, Trump inherited a "pretty solid" economy. This first jobs report of the Trump term is in line with where things stood before he took office.

According to Trump (pre-White House) all these employment reports are nonsense. “The unemployment rate is probably 20 percent, but I will tell you, you have some great economists that will tell you it's at 30, 32,” he said in September 2015. “And the highest I've heard so far is 42 percent."

Oh wait, that is until this one. Direct quote: "They may have been phony in the past but it's very real now."

I swear, the man should be running a carnival, not a country.

I thought it was 298k?

235k is a nice number. Obama had 214k same month last year iirc.

The man has no shame.

Lots had plans to move jobs to Mexico under Obama so this number is actually even more impressive.

Why wouldn't they considering trumps own economic policy advisor did the same.

'Trump's economic adviser says Trump had nothing to do with Friday's strong jobs report'

Minority population that enters the job market every year is rising which also makes it tough. Rising demographic

Even Trump's own economic advisor is saying this has nothing to do with Trump.

Obviously, Trump should have appointed gokudamus as his economic advisor.

Even better

During an interview with CNBC, Cohn said the report was "right exactly where it needed to be," but he also said that Trump's team wasn't the reason for the beat. For one thing, Cohn said, the jobs that were promised by CEOs who have met with Trump haven't been created yet

Already passed Obama and hasn't approached his ceiling

Nice. 235,000 is almost as good as February 2015 and 2016.

Partisan posturing aside it's good news any way you slice it. I think we can all agree with that can't we?

most can agree

but as you can see, anti trumpers in here and in real life will let their personal hatred of Trump govern their perspective on reality

To be fair this jobs report is part of 75 month trend coming off of the previous administration, and is likely largely a continuation of that. Trump also said these jobs reports are 90% fiction. So he's free to take credit now, but it makes him a massive hypocrite. But that doesn't mean we should not be happy about the numbers (unless you traffic in conspiracy theories like Mr. Trump).
