Coleman Troll Posts

I love Coleman, he's been a true warrior since the old nhb days. It's because of this that I find some of the Coleman trolls to be pretty disrespectful. I know that many of you are genuinely pulling for Coleman and that's great, but a lot of the posts I've been reading on this site come across as mocking and again, disrespectful.

Coleman deserves better than mocking admiration.

People said the same thing before Coleman vs. Bonnar as well, as if saying that Coleman had a chance of winning was "trolling." We saw how that one worked out.

"Stop trolling about Coleman"

I'm inclined to agree with you, however, i find that the forum is reflective of the fighter's it discusses. Tito's brashness and shit talk is met with the same. When Kenny and Bisping seemed to be getting a lil too big for their britches the forum responded in kind. Coleman is a character. Overblown and occassionally out of line and so the forum treats him the same way. So there.

There's a big difference between saying that Coleman had a good chance of beating Bonnar and some of the other stuff that's been posted on this forum. I stated pretty clearly that I like Coleman and think he deserves respect. I also agree that he seems to be rededicating himself and might give a lot of fighters trouble. But you know that's not the sort of stuff I'm referring to.

So what are you against, people expressing support for Coleman in a humorous way?

I certainly don't mind humorous posts, but I think they sometimes come across as mocking, similar to all the Chuck Norris jokes. Maybe I'm misreading their intentions, but a lot of the posts are so ridiculous that it seems like posters are making fun of Coleman and that's the thing that bothers me.

I don't get this post.  I find it awesome that a good majority of fight fans root for Mark, humorous or not.

LOL he was gonna run through Shogun too, remember fellas? How'd that work out?

If people cut out the antidote horse shit, stopped trolling and reffered to Mark as 'THE HAMMER' which he has earnt then this place would be much cooler.

He did way better than most people anticipated, making Shogun look bad, and ended up winning fight of the night.

no need to hate on UFC hall of famer Mark Coleman...

No, it would be much less accurate. imho, The antidote is a way cooler nickname, given its context i.e. having the antidote to Machida's/anyone's style. so quit trolling and accusing others of trolling...troll

Are you saying it's OK to mock Chuck Norris?

This is an interesting problem, because The Antidote would probably be sad to learn that enthusiastic support of his renewed career is assumed to be trolling.

I believe Coleman vs. Anderson is a fight Coleman could win. I think the matchup suits Coleman. If Andy was great at defending take downs or this was a striking match, coleman loses most of the time-anythign can happen in a fight.

But, Andy's take down defense is his weakness. And Coleman's strength is the take down. He may be the best in MMA history.

Once to the ground, Coleman is the master of GNP. Andy has an active guard and a dangerous triangle.

The UFC, other than Hendo, has handed Andy style matchups hugely in his favor. And even Hendo liked his standup a bit too much in the Andy fight, IMO.

But, the times Coleman has been submitted, it was usually due to his lack of cardio. He just wore down. This is not the case today. With his new training camp in place, his cardio looked great vs. Bonnar.

His cardio is certainly peaking. He seemed to be in much better shape against Bonnar. If Randy could slap Sylvia around at his age, why is it so unrealistic for The Antidote to be a properly earned name?
