College Football 2020-2021 Thread

I’ll be interested to see how the playoff handles this season if we even have a playoff. This really would be the best season to do 8 teams if they could somehow pull it off.

And I have 0 sympathy for Florida. They’ve always supported the stupid permanent cross division opponents bullshit, well congrats, here’s you reward.

I think they’ll abstain bc they’re gutless BUT if I’m wrong I agree an 8 team playoff makes perfect sense.

Lol on the Florida front! Get in where you fit in SEC East. Time for the “halves” to get a taste I suppose. Might that comment pull out our old friend? Hrmmmm....

Either way this season, IF IT HAPPENS AT ALL, will be interesting for sure. I’ll be watching on mute and trying to ignore the words on the backs of the most privileged college kids in America. Smdh..

Didn’t realize the new thread had started, I’m excited for the all SEC schedule. We came out pretty good picking up Kentucky and Tennessee. How do you Aggies feel about picking up the Gators?

Most like it if it sticks. It’s still up in the air I believe.

I thought Finebaum confirmed it on his show today. It’s probably the most intriguing game added to the schedule to me. Two teams that both think 2020 is their breakout year. I hope it’s early in the calendar.

This is also an incredibly biased take but I think the LSU rebuild is being a bit over exaggerated. Obviously Brennan needs to step up, but the only groups with super limited experience are LB and TE. 3 RBs that all saw playing time last year, loaded at WR, O-Line returns 4 guys with starting experience, D-Line returns 3 starters and is as deep as its been in years and loaded at DB as always. I’ve watched a bunch of 2019 replays during quarantine and our offense wasn’t revolutionary but the execution was next level. I think the defense will take a few weeks to get in sync but will be fine by the home stretch.

I’m hearing it would be the last game for us lol. @Bama.. LSU.. Florida..

Wow that is rough as hell. Auburn was supposed to end season vs LSU and at Bama but I was reading yesterday that they might make LSU at Auburn the first game of the season. A little different than Alcorn St. that we were supposed to open with lol

Yeah the only consolation to any of this is POSSIBLY having some sort of a season. The NCAA won’t get their shit together so we’ll be stuck like the old old old days. 2020 and we’re stuck here.. Here’s hoping one of our teams is “claiming” a title!

Frickin' Big 12 still lollygagging around

The NCAA better start working on a 8-10 playoff for this year or there is going to be 3-4 teams pissed off when the SEC places two teams in playoffs.  ESPN is going to ask for 3 SEC teams...watch.

The Big 12 needs to push for their non conference games to happen minus the conferences that are backing out.  There is no way an undefeated team from the Big 12 conference will make it in based on conference games alone.  PAC 10 and all of the mid conferences are in the same boat.  Clemson would need tbe undefeated to make it in too.  SEC might have 2 undefeated teams and 1 loss team make it in if OSU or Clemson are not undefeated by the end of the season.

This is ESPN's wet dream.

True. Unless Baylor or Oklahoma State look incredibly well. TCU maybe? Iowa state is improving, but nowhere near the level of those you mentioned

FWIW texags is claiming this year the committee will choose 4 teams from the 5 conference champions. 2 teams from the same conference will not happen. Arin can take his tin foil hat off and relax.

Yes!!!!!

I was really hoping college ball would be back this season.  Mainly because I like it  it secondly because I seriously might not be able to watch the nfl due to all the SJW bullshit that I think is going to go along with it this year.

So now the signs are that college ball will be pretty similar??

I fucking hope not

If OSU and Clemson go undefeated, they are in, IMO.  SEC will get two on SOS alone.

The B12 (Big 9)'s best chance is texas because of their fan base.  The PAC 10's best chance is USC but neither conference will be able to overcome the preseason ranking that the SEC will boast.  The SEC will have 5 teams in the top 10 and 6 in the top 15.

If the season plays out, I guarantee you that there will be one team that wins the playoff and 2-3 teams that also claim the NC.

8-10 team playoff is a must!

Explain a 10 team to me.

The players in the Pac 12 are already in revolt. They may get a few games in but widespread infection is gonna shut it down. I might be wrong, but if the pros are waffling, how you gonna send in the unpaid college kids?

I have no idea but my son's league are going to play a limited schedule in the spring.  No fall football.  They all retain a year of eligibility.

Larry Scott will make Rob Manfred's botched COVID response look like a Nobel worthy achievement in theoretical physics.

Bump for USCw
