College Wrestling: OK State Barely Edges Oklahoma

 ---

Still unblemished are the Oklahoma State Cowboys this season during dual meets. The Cowboys of OSU had an exciting dual last night that went down to the wire. As the last match ended fans were still breathless in hopes that their Sooners snagged a win over the number one ranked team in the land.

Thursday night the Oklahoma State Cowboys traveled to in-state rival Oklahoma for their final dual of the regular season. The Cowboys previously advanced to the final four of Mat Mayhem and might have had looked pasted the Sooners, with their eyes set on the dual national title. After handling the Sooners earlier in the year with a dual victory 25-13, the Cowboys acted as if they had the dual wrapped up before it started.

That was not the case at all, and the No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners proved to the Cowboys as well as everyone else in the nation why the match is wrestled on the mat, not on paper. The dual ended at regulation in a tie at 18 all and ended up coming down to a criteria decision. With having the advantage of the second rule in criteria, Oklahoma State Cowboys won by second criteria (most tech. falls/falls) 19-18.
