Rodrigo Munduruca via armbar in first
Forgot to mention, very impressed with Jerin Valel reffing. He did some of the MMA fights, you could tell he's fought MMA and knew what he was doing out there. Good to see someone who knows the game get involved in that part of it!
Also, in muay thai action, Augustino DeNatale won a Unan Dec, despite having a fever for several days leading up to the fight. Very impressive performance. After the fight, he was too sick to attend the after party. That's how you know a dude don't feel good.
Also, the main event featured "Dangerous" Dave Zuninga in another muay thai fight. Dave put on a clinic for three rounds, having his way with his opponent from start to finish. Very impressive, and entertaining performance.
Funny how other people that are jealous of our sucess always try to put us down if we win the fights ....Funny to post without your real name, grow some balls and step on the ring, then you can give your idiotic opinion about fights.
i don't know if it's being jealous of your sucess but the reason I won't go to Coleseum show is beacause they aren't programmed to be the best fight card it can be, it's geared to be the best show of Winnipeg talent it can be. I can understand that from a promotional point of view but as a fight fan... It's not what I want to see. I shouldn't be able to predict the winners ahead of time just based on where the guy is from.
I HATE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT PUT THEIR REAL NAMES ON THIS FORUM!!
Just to make things very clear, the promotion is Colosseum Fighting Championship(formally part of Duke Roufus Gladiators Fighting Series),i am the event matchmaker and co-promoter.
We are the only show in the WORLD that combines MMA,Muay Thai, and Boxing.
I showcase Winnipegs best MMA and Muay Thai fighters, the problem is that there is NOBODY out side the UFC that can hang with Rodrigo Munduruca and Chris Fontaine.NOBODY in North America that can hang in a Muay Thai fight at 170 with Dave Zuniga and 147 with Agostino DeNatale...END OF STORY...ANYONE WANT TO ARGUE THIS WITH ME CAN COME DOWN TO TEAM CANADA MMA IN WINNIPEG AND DO IT IN PERSON,I WILL FLY YOU IN MYSELF!!NO KEYBOARD TOUGH GUYS PLEASE,I WONT LOWER MYSELF.
In past shows we have had Joe Doerksen and Duke Roufus fighting on the promotion..lack of talent??
WE ARE THE BEST PROMOTION OF MMA AND MUAY THAI ON THE PRAIRES,IF NOT CANADA,HATERS STAY HOME!

I fought for Colloseum andi am not a hometown boy. And i think i was matched up quite evenly. My fight went the distance ( much to both of our chagrins) and i won the decision over a hometown boy. so i gotta say that Colloseum did an awesome job. On the same card i also recall fontaine struggling for a while with his opponent before pulling off a nice arm bar.
Anyway, fights can go a minute, or the distance. You never know in this sport. One mistake can end it all. Look at BJ Penn vs Uno. First time, over in eleven seconds. Rematch, five round draw. You never know.
Anyway, it seemed most of the fans were happy. I'll be going to the next show, as well. See you all there.
I think you guys are taking this to heart a little to quickly here.
I think what people are trying to get at here, is the fact that only team canada guys fight on these cards, so in fact, its like your own little gym wars. Is Team Canada the absolute only gym in winnipeg? I saw Dominick was from a different gym and the announcer still asked about team canada. Another funny thing is if you look at "king johns" picks, Dominick was the only one he didn't choose to win from winnipeg....isnt that odd? The only one not from Team Canada and he picks him to lose???
As for the fights....yeah they look a tad one sided and I'll explain why.
Chirs Powers, announced as having 26 fights, 8 by k.o. and 14 by submission. Not true. also runs around telling people that the promoters told him the ufc is watching. This guy is not even close to being in the same boat as Chris Fountaine!
Justin Barnard fights a guy who usually fights at 145lb. How does that work? Not a bad fight till Tim armbars him and justin TAPS, then Tim lets it go from the tap, and Justin starts punching! fine maybe the ref didn't see, but Justin should man up and admit he tapped.
Daves muay thai fight was awesome, but why was the guy weighing in and walking around at 161lbs.? Dave cut to 170lb. and looked like a monster compared to that lil guy. lil guy had heart though.
Do we really need to talk about Larry Sharpes oponent? Never seen so many knees taken in a fight, actually looked like he was going for takedowns in a boxing match!! Minimum 4 knees or "slips" per round.
Rod is just too talented in BJJ to be fighting on small shows. Your not gonna find a decent enough guy for him to fight so yeah it looks bad. On sherdog they refered to him as the canadian Gonzaga, and I think thats true, but in no way should he be fighting people like he did.
