It looks like I will be fighting on the aforementioned card in Boston on Dec 4th. The promoter, Bruce Marshall, is looking for fighters. He will pay for gas to get there for new guys and more for established fighters. He is looking for a 185-195 lb first-time fighter to match up with a like competitor. He is also looking for a 170 lb "killer" (his words) to fight on the same card. St. Pierre? His number is 978-828-2149. I spoke to him today and he is interested in bringing in Canadian fighters. I have not yet met him personally - I am only going on what has been said to me by the man himself. If you make a deal with him, it has nothing to do with me. Call him yourself and find out about fighting on this card if you want to. Again, I have nothing to do with the business of this promotion. If things don't work out, it has nothing to do with me. I just figured I would let other Canadian fighters (mainly from Ontario, 'cause its illegal here and we have to travel to fight) know about this show so that they could fight if they wanted to. Bruce Marshall asked me to let people at my gym know about fighting on this card. I suggested that he put a message in the Canadian MMA.tv forum as well. This post will hopefully help Canadians fighters get some info on this card too.
I received an email from Rick Caldwell regarding this card. (Rick is the guy who secures fighters and sponsors for this promotion):
"We are looking for fighters for Combat Zone 9 "Hot Like Fire" on december 4th in boston, MA. The main event is Drew Fickett (Arizona Combat Sports) vs. Nuri Shakir (Team Elite) for the uskba world mma title. The rest of the card is coming together, but we are still looking for fighters."
