Comparing the main 3 fight streaming services

Let me know if I miss any content or get anything wrong but just trying to do a quick comparison of the three main fight streaming services in the U.S. as we head into 2019. Definitely an interesting time for fight fans in the United States in the next few years as we see more live content and historical libraries going a la carte on streaming sites for multiple combat sports.

ESPN+ ($4.99 per month): Seems to have the most value per cost. Offers the following live fight events:

UFC live events minus pay-per-view main cards (includes some of historical library)

Top Rank Boxing live events (includes some of historical library) and subcontracted events from Frank Warren in England, Teiken events from Japan, etc.....

DAZN ($9.99 per month): Offers the following live events:

Matchroom Boxing live events (includes some of historical library)

Golden Boy Boxing live events (includes some of historical library)

World Boxing Super Series

Bellator MMA live events (includes some of historical library)

Combate Americas MMA (includes some of historical library)

KSW MMA (Poland)

Road FC MMA (South Korea)

EFC MMA (South Africa)

UFC Fight Pass ($9.99 per month): Offers the following live events:

UFC (no live events but full historical library of UFC, Pride FC, Strikeforce, WEC, K-1 and tons of other promotions)

Cage Warriors MMA (U.K.)

Invicta FC MMA

Pancrase MMA (Japan)

TKO MMA (Canada)

Cage Fury Fighting Championships MMA

Island Fights MMA

Alaska Fighting Championships MMA

Titan FC MMA

Victory FC MMA

WXC MMA

Rise of Champions MMA

Glory Kickboxing

Friday Night Fights kickboxing

Quintet (grappling)

Eddie Bravo Invitational (grappling)

Polaris (grappling)

Karate Combat

DAZN also offers World Boxing Super Series.

DAZN also offers World Boxing Super Series.

Thanks, Eddy. Updated list. One other note that isn’t clarified in my list is that ESPN+ splits live event content with ESPN linear channels (and in some cases pay per view), whereas the DAZN deals are only for DAZN in the U.S. and aren’t shared with other entities. Will be interesting to see if Golden Boy distributes with anyone else also, though, as my understanding is that their deal with DAZN is only for Canelo fights and 10 live other events per year. That makes me wonder if we could still see Golden Boy sign a smaller deal still for the rest of their lesser content.

UFC will no longer have the Tuesday Night Contender Series starting in 2019 as that will move to ESPN+. That has been my favorite thing about FightPass programming in the summer. The other promotions they stream live are also nice, though.

TNCS has certainly been a breath of fresh air.

Friday Night Fights kickboxing is airing live now. Pretty busy slate on FightPass for the rest of this year.

Does anyone here have any of these three yet? I have FightPass but in January will likely replace it with ESPN+.

Does anybody know if fightpass will be doing any live UFC content once they move to espn+? OR will all the live stuff be on espn

read yesterday DAZN is close to a deal with MLB for 300 million to do a live lookin show.

Fightpass has live prelims

I’ve got DAZN and ESPN+. I had FightPass in the past but dropped it. I may end up getting it again after the new year once the ESPN dust settles and i have a clear picture of the content offered

Those are also moving to ESPN+ in January.

From my understanding everything will be on ESPN+ except for the main cards of the numbered events (which presumably will be on PPV still).

I wonder if there will be a way for FightPass subscribers to bundle/purchase an ESPN+ subscription through FightPass.

Substantial financial commitments in combat sports content have been made by lots of channels/streaming sites for moving forward. Still, the content is more affordable than several other sports entities out there.

ESPN/ESPN+:

Estimated $360 million plus per year. $300 million for UFC and estimated $60 million for Top Rank Boxing (plus subcontracted international boxing events such as Frank Warren’s Shows in the U.K., Teiken events in Japan, etc....).

DAZN:

Estimated $245-$255 million per year. $125 million to Matchroom Boxing per year. About $93 million to Golden Boy and “Canelo” Alvarez (assuming he fights twice in a year). Estimated $10 million per year to World Boxing Super Series. Estimated $20 million per year to Bellator MMA.

Showtime:

Estimated $60 million per year to PBC boxing.

Fox/Fox Sports 1:

Estimated $60 million per year to PBC boxing.

They definitely will. I might also cancel FightPass at the end of the year.

For those that have ESPN+, how is the feature to search old videos from the Top Rank Boxing library?

Thanks for putting this thread together OP and those who contributed.  Very good info

You guys saying early prelims are going to ESPN+

Do you have confimation that this means they would be removed from fightpass?  Or is there a possibility that they be broadcast on both ESPN+ and FP?

I won't pretend to know how the business works, but it seems to me that since it's the UFC's product, even though they have a new deal with ESPN, maybe they also can still broadcast their own content on their own platform as well?  Surely they know they would be risking killing their own platform if they remove the biggest reason people have to order it
